Job Description

The Sr Product Owner is responsible for translating business needs into clearly defined product requirements that enable effective delivery of solutions across the supported product portfolio. This role partners closely with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Analytics, and Engineering to gather, document, and refine product requirements, ensuring solutions align to business objectives and user needs. This individual leads discovery efforts by interviewing stakeholders, synthesizing feedback, and translating insights into structured epics, features, and user stories. The Sr Product Owner owns the product backlog, ensuring it is well-defined, prioritized, and actionable for delivery teams. This role includes light project coordination responsibilities to support delivery execution, working in partnership with Project Management resources to track progress, surface risks, and ensure alignment to timelines.

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Strategy and Requirements Definition (30%)

- Partner with stakeholders to define business needs

- Conduct discovery through interviews and workshops

- Translate needs into structured product requirements

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Facilitation (30%)

- Facilitate alignment sessions across stakeholders

- Act as central point of contact between business and technical teams

- Provide light project coordination (track progress, surface risks, support timelines)

 

Backlog Management and User Story Development (25%)

- Own and maintain a structured product backlog

- Break down epics into detailed user stories

- Ensure stories are testable with clear acceptance criteria

 

Go-to-Market Alignment (5%)

- Ensure delivered capabilities align with Sales and Marketing needs

 

Market & Product Insight Development (5%)

- Build deep knowledge of the products, markets, and business context supported

 

Execution Oversight (5%)

- Validate delivery against requirements and acceptance criteria

- Track milestones and identify risks/dependencies

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree required.

EXPERIENCE

10–15 years of experience in product ownership or product management roles.

Experience with Agile methodologies and cross-functional teams.

Strong background in requirements gathering and backlog management.

Additional Information

Salary range: $130,000 - $150,000 Annually 

Position is eligible for an annual bonus incentive program

The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
