Job description

Overview:

The Senior Technical Project Manager (TPM) is a newly established role designed to bring structure, consistency, and clarity to complex technical initiatives across ViaPath. This role ensures strong alignment between technical work and business objectives, improves predictability, and reduces operational friction.

The TPM acts as a critical bridge between engineering, operations, and business stakeholders—strengthening communication, enabling effective resource planning, and ensuring timely delivery of high-impact internal projects. The emphasis is to streamline processes, increase visibility, and ensure that our technical investments deliver maximum value.

Position to be based at any ViaPath office. For individuals that are not located near a ViaPath office, the position can be remote based.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage internal deliverable projects from initiation to production phase and beyond. Oversee product launches, ensuring all internal stakeholders (BD, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Legal, and Pricing) have signed off on all aspects before products are launched (this includes prototypes, pilots, etc.)
  • Build comprehensive project plans including timelines, resource needs, budgets, and milestone schedules.
  • Align project initiatives to product roadmap - define project scope, overall objective, and key stakeholders.
  • Conduct feasibility analyses and identify potential risks and dependencies.
  • Define deliverables, acceptance criteria, and quality standards.
  • Determine and implement appropriate methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Lead day-to-day project activities across cross-functional groups including Engineering, QA, DevOps, Operations, and Product.
  • Facilitate effective communication between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Manage resource allocation, resolve roadblocks, and ensure teams stay aligned on priorities.
  • Adjust plans proactively based on progress, risks, and shifting business needs.
  • Track project KPIs, progress metrics, and performance indicators.
  • Identify, document, and mitigate risks and issues.
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards, quality expectations, and security requirements.
  • Provide regular updates, dashboards, and status reporting to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Oversee final delivery of project outputs and obtain stakeholder sign-off.
  • Lead retrospectives and document lessons learned.
  • Ensure project artifacts are properly archived for future reference.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field desired; related equivalent years of experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • 8+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a technology-driven environment. Experience may include project or program management, product operations, business analysis, process improvement, or related roles requiring coordination across engineering, product, and business teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex internal technical projects from initiation to delivery.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and enterprise systems.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to translate technical information into clear, actionable plans for diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and work effectively in a matrixed environment.
  • PMP, Scrum Master, Six Sigma, or Agile certification is a plus.
