Job Overview

As the Senior Manager, Business Operations & Strategy at Hershey, you will serve as a pivotal leader within the organization, directly contributing to shaping and executing the company’s highest priority enterprise initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker and problem solver who excels at dissecting complex business challenges and crafting pragmatic, data-driven solutions that resonate across departments.

 

You will collaborate extensively with diverse business functions to develop and refine strategies that are actionable and aligned with Hershey’s overarching goals. Your responsibilities will encompass shaping problem statements, outlining comprehensive workplans, and steering efforts through from concept formulation to final delivery and review. In doing so, you will ensure that solutions provide tangible value and measurable improvements in performance.

 

This position demands excellent communication skills, an ability to influence at all levels, and a hands-on approach to leadership. You will mobilize cross-enterprise teams, manage interdependencies, and nurture alignment among stakeholders to facilitate cohesive decision-making and maximize operational efficiency. Working within a dynamic and interconnected environment, you will measure success not only by initiative outcomes but also by your impact on enterprise-wide collaboration and strategic alignment.

Accountabilities

  1. Design and implement practical, cross-functional strategies that identify root causes of business challenges and deliver quantifiable outcomes across the enterprise.
  2. Break down complex, multi-dimensional enterprise problems into clear, structured problem definitions, detailed workplans, and decision-making frameworks that guide effective resolution.
  3. Own the complete project lifecycle from initial planning and scoping through implementation and evaluation, ensuring objectives are met on time and within scope.
  4. Engage and influence senior leadership and key stakeholders with concise insights, evidence-based recommendations, and collaborative decision facilitation.
  5. Coordinate and integrate efforts across multiple teams and initiatives, managing interdependencies to ensure alignment and seamless execution.

Minimum Education & Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to navigate ambiguous and complex business situations.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing full lifecycle projects across multiple business functions, ensuring accountability and delivery excellence.
  • Strong executive presence, including the ability to communicate with clarity and influence decision-making at senior levels.
  • Experience translating strategic vision into detailed plans with measurable objectives and successful execution.
  • Proven capability to operate in highly matrixed, interdependent, and enterprise-scale organizations.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred (Business, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field)
  • At least 8-12 years of progressive experience in management consulting, business operations, enterprise strategy, or leadership of large-scale, cross-functional programs, preferably within consumer packaged goods (CPG) or similarly complex sectors.
  • Preferably has worked at premier consulting firms (such as MBB or Big 4), or possesses equivalent experience gained in demanding, problem-solving roles that require strategic agility and operational rigor.
