The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada

Non-profit Organizations

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC) is a voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. LLSC funds lifesaving blood cancer research across Canada and worldwide, and provides free information and support services. We won’t stop until there is a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, myelodysplastic syndromes and myeloproliferative neoplasms and are able to improve the quality of life of people affected by blood cancers and their families by funding life-enhancing research and providing educational resources, services and support. Our strategy to achieve the mission is based on three areas of focus: research, patient support and advocacy. In 2017, we invested almost $7.4 million in the creation of programs and delivery of services to improve the lives of Canadians affected by blood cancers from coast to coast. This investment included a commitment of over $4.1 million in innovative, life-changing research to accelerate new cancer treatments, therapies, and cures; and $3.3 million towards funding patient services, programs and education across Canada. Everything we do is made possible through the generosity of individuals, corporate partners, and foundations. In the last two decades alone, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada has raised $207 million for research and services. We receive no government support.

Help us change lives.  Lead one of Canada’s Top Fundraising Campaigns

We’re looking for a Campaign Manager, Visionaries of the Year (VOY) to lead our Halifax market and help drive one of Canada’s most exciting and impactful fundraising campaigns.  This is more than a fundraising role – it’s an opportunity to recruit, inspire, and coach influential community leaders as they compete to raise critical funds for blood cancer research and support programs.

About Visionaries of the Year

Visionaries of the Year is a high-energy, 10-week fundraising competition that brings together outstanding business and community leaders who are passionate about making a difference. Candidates leverage their networks, creativity, and influence to fundraise in support of LLSC’s mission, culminating in an unforgettable Grand Finale celebration.

As Campaign Manager, you’ll be at the center of it all – building relationships, coaching candidates, mobilizing volunteers, and helping ambitious changemakers achieve remarkable fundraising success.

Key Areas of Focus:

  • Recruit and Inspire Community Leaders
    • You’ll identify and engage Halifax’s most influential business and community leaders, building a strong pipeline of future Visionaries candidates and volunteer leaders.
  • Coach for Fundraising Success
    • Working closely with candidates throughout their campaign journey, you’ll provide strategic fundraising guidance, accountability and motivation to help them exceed ambitious goals – often reaching $100,000+ in fundraising effort.
  • Build Meaningful Relationships
    • From executive volunteers and corporate partners to sponsors and donors, you’ll cultivate high-value relationships that strengthen the VOY campaign and expand LLSC’s impact across the region.
  • Lead Volunteer Engagement
    • You’ll recruit, train, and support a high-performing Nominating Committee that helps identify exceptional candidates and opens doors to new opportunities throughout the market.
  • Bring the Mission to Life
    • You’ll connect supporters to the real impact of their fundraising by sharing stories of patients, survivors, families, and research breakthroughs that inspire action and deepen commitment to our cause.
  • What Makes you Successful
    • You thrive on building relationships that are energized by ambitious goals. You are equally comfortable facilitating a meeting with senior executives, coaching volunteers, presenting to a room full of supporters, or developing strategies to grow fundraising revenue.

You Bring:

  • 5+ years' experience in fundraising, sales, business development, relationship management, or a similar performance-driven environment
  • A proven ability to recruit, influence, and engage senior-level leaders and volunteers
  • Strong coaching and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work independently
  • Passion for making a meaningful difference in your community

Working Conditions

This is a hybrid, community-based role located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The successful candidate must reside within the region and be available to attend meetings, events, and donor engagements throughout the market.  This position is highly external facing, with significant time spent in the community building relationships and supporting campaign activities.  Occasional travel within Canada and the United States may be required for staff trainings and meetings.

What We Offer

The Campaign Manager position is a vacant role, and this is what we offer:

  • Generous time off, from 15 days starting vacation, to a day off on your birthday, and holiday closures for around two weeks at the end of the year
  • A wide variety of health and benefits including a healthcare spending account, and more.
  • A flexible hybrid workplace
  • Amazing colleagues and workplace culture

Please note, we are open to non-traditional backgrounds and experience profiles.  If you have some of the qualifications but not all and think you have the ability to do the role, please apply.
