Job description

Contract consulting opportunity for a Sr Data Analyst to make a significant impact on a high-profile enterprise modernization initiative. You'll work alongside cross-functional teams, leverage modern cloud technologies, and play a key role in ensuring data quality and successful migration to a next-generation Finance data platform.
Client requirements:

  • Work authorization: US Citizen or GC holder
  • W2 hourly only: No C2C/Indep.
Location: local to Minneapolis/St Paul, MN metro candidates, role will be primarily remote
 
We're seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support a large-scale Finance data modernization initiative, helping migrate legacy mainframe applications to a modern Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data platform. This role will play a critical part in validating data, reconciling legacy and modern datasets, and developing reporting that supports successful platform migration and Go-Live readiness.
What You'll Do
  • Validate and reconcile data between legacy and modern Finance platforms during parallel operations.
  • Develop complex SQL queries and datasets to identify data variances and ensure data integrity.
  • Build dashboards and reports that highlight data quality, reconciliation results, and variance trends.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Finance, and Business teams to investigate data discrepancies, determine root causes, and document business-approved resolutions.
  • Create reconciliation reports, exception reports, validation summaries, and business sign-off documentation.
  • Analyze data mappings, transformation logic, data lineage, and business rules to ensure accurate migration.
  • Support Go-Live readiness by helping define acceptable data variance thresholds and providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, and cross-functional collaboration.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a Data Analyst or similar analytics role.
  • Advanced hands-on SQL experience with large-scale data platforms such as Google BigQuery, Hadoop, or similar technologies.
  • Experience building and maintaining ETL/data pipelines using tools such as Dataproc, Airflow, Dataform, dbt, or comparable technologies.
  • Strong Python and/or PySpark experience for data movement, transformation, and analysis.
  • Experience with reporting and visualization tools including Power BI, Looker, and LookML.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Data validation and reconciliation
    • Source-to-target data mapping
    • Data quality analysis
    • Duplicate and exception detection
    • Audit/control total validation
    • Business rule validation
  • Ability to interpret mapping documents, transformation logic, reporting requirements, and data lineage.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience collaborating across Engineering, Product, Finance, and Business teams.
  • 1–3 years working within Agile delivery teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting enterprise retail organizations.
  • Knowledge of finance, merchandising, inventory, supply chain, sales, digital, or customer data domains.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Medallion Data Architecture.
  • Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA finance data structures and reporting.
  • Experience supporting enterprise data modernization or cloud migration initiatives.
ITR Group offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, and 401(k) for eligible employees. The W2 pay range for this type of role is approximately $70.00 - $80.00 per billable hour. This range is an estimate and not a guarantee of compensation. The final rate will be determined by factors such as experience, market trends, and specific job assignments.
