Job description

This is a remote position.

Our client is looking for a Structural Drafter to create accurate structural drawings and models based on engineering plans, calculations, and project requirements. They operate in the structural engineering industry and have expanded their portfolio across multiple building sectors and U.S. markets in recent years.

This role is primarily focused on structural drafting rather than engineering calculations. However, Structural Engineers with strong hands-on drafting experience may also be considered.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience preparing structural construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD. They should be able to work independently while coordinating closely with engineers, manage assignments with minimal supervision, and consistently deliver accurate work.

This position requires someone proactive, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and capable of taking ownership of projects. Strong written and spoken English is essential for understanding instructions, discussing revisions, and collaborating with the U.S.-based team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed structural drawings based on engineering plans, sketches, calculations, and project specifications.
  • Develop and update structural models and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Translate engineering concepts into clear, accurate, and buildable drawings.
  • Draft structural elements such as foundations, framing systems, columns, beams, walls, slabs, and connection details.
  • Work alongside Structural Engineers to incorporate design requirements and project revisions.
  • Coordinate multiple drafting assignments while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Review engineering markups and implement corrections efficiently.
  • Verify dimensions, annotations, references, and drawing consistency before submitting work.
  • Perform thorough quality checks to identify drafting errors, missing information, or coordination issues.
  • Maintain organized drawing files, models, revisions, and project documentation.
  • Communicate questions, conflicts, or missing details proactively.
  • Follow established drafting standards, templates, naming conventions, and internal procedures.
  • Use Microsoft Office applications to support project communication, documentation, and task tracking.
  • Continue developing technical knowledge through feedback, training, and exposure to new projects.

Requirements

  • Extensive professional experience in structural drafting.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare structural drawings from engineering plans and markups.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural, architectural, and construction documents.
  • Understanding of structural components, building systems, dimensions, sections, schedules, and construction details.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to reviewing work before submission.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments with limited supervision.
  • Ability to collaborate directly and efficiently with Structural Engineers.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage parallel assignments and changing priorities.
  • Proactive approach to identifying questions and resolving drafting issues.
  • Fast-learning mindset and willingness to grow within the role.
  • High level of spoken and written English proficiency.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Reliable computer equipment and internet connection suitable for remote drafting work.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree, associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent training in drafting, civil engineering, structural engineering, architecture, or a related field.
  • Several years of hands-on structural drafting experience, preferably within an engineering or design firm.
  • Structural Engineers may be considered when their background includes substantial day-to-day drafting and construction-document production.
  • Experience preparing drawings for building-related structural projects.
  • Strong understanding of drafting accuracy, drawing organization, and document coordination.
  • Experience receiving and implementing redlines or engineering markups.
  • Previous experience collaborating remotely with U.S.-based engineering, architecture, or construction teams is preferred.
  • Familiarity with U.S. construction-document standards and terminology is an advantage.

Benefits

  • Full-time opportunity.
  • 100% remote position.
  • Opportunity to work on structural engineering projects for the U.S. market.
