Labcorp is looking for a Data Management Associate for the Madison Labcorp Life Science Facility.

The Nonclinical Data Associate is an entry level position in the global data management solutions group, learning the tasks required of drafting and finalizing nonclinical datasets with supervision.

Job Description:

  • Learns appropriate levels and methods of direct contact with clients

  • Learns to prepare form letters and communication text

  • Shadows experienced data associates and joins other client-facing staff (e.g., study director) to attend client site visits and client conference calls

  • Learns to use software tools to efficiently and accurately complete job duties. Software types to include: word processing, spreadsheet, dataset/table generation, collaboration/sharing, and database supportive applications.

  • Dataset Preparation

    • (85%) Trains on duties required to complete dataset preparation. Tasks to be learned may include, but are not limited to:

    • Learning how to obtain and review study documents (e.g., protocol, report) to gather information to prepare datasets

    • Learning to generate and quality check (QC) dataset files to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

    • Learning to address client inquiries on content of study datasets

    • (5%) May learn to compile metadata to populate databases supporting nonclinical safety assessment.

    • (5%) May train on software testing and validation activities. Initial training will include executing test scripts and maintaining documentation in accordance with Systems Life Cycle methodology which complies with General Principles of Software Validation issued by regulatory agencies.

    • (5%) Performs other duties as assigned and may include shadowing or attending company and/or industry initiatives related to dataset specifications and/or production

  • This role participates as a member of a global team, with global colleagues and supervisors.

  • Communicates with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate projects as assigned.

  • Communicates with supervisors, management, and schedulers/project regarding timelines and assignments

  • Promotes and strives for quality first approach to work

Summary: The Nonclinical Data Associate role serves as part of a team which generates standardized datasets to be used by clients and regulatory agencies.  Data Associates work independently and ultimately work with minimal supervision.  Datasets generated may be portions or complete datasets in SEND format, or datasets of historical control data.  Ability to learn and comprehend scientific terminology is a part of the role.  Working independently requires individual time management and prioritization with guidance from supervisors.  Due to the nature of the use of the datasets, quality and accuracy are of the utmost importance. Data Associates work with a sense of urgency to meet customer timelines and expectations.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in one of the following: life sciences, computer science/information systems, statistics, bioinformatics, or mathematics or similar.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge or experience using programming applications or formulas such as, but not limited to: SAS, R, Python or willingness to learn within 1st year of employment.

  • Preclinical life science experience or exposure

  • Basic knowledge of office software (e.g., Microsoft® Office, especially Word and Excel; Adobe® Acrobat®)

  • Attention to detail, time management skills, and organizational skills

  • Ability to understand or learn scientific and medical terminology and concepts

  • Good communication skills

Pay Range: $19.00 - $24.00/hourly

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
