GENERAL INFORMATION
· Workdays are primarily Monday through Friday
· Occasional evening or weekend work may be required
· Limited travel may be required
· Position is Regular, Full-time, and Exempt
· Position reports directly to the Senior Director of Human Resources
· Candidate must be able to consistently support employees and business operations within the Eastern Time Zone (EST/ET)
· Advanced Paylocity experience (required). Candidates without significant Paylocity experience will not be considered.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB
· The Senior HR Generalist serves as a trusted partner and strategic right-hand resource to the Senior Director of Human Resources
· This role supports both the strategic and day-to-day execution of HR operations across the employee lifecycle, total rewards, employee relations, and HR systems.
· This role serves as a versatile HR partner, capable of operating tactically while also contributing to more complex workforce needs—including compensation structures, mixed workforce models (W-2 and 1099), and employee relations matters.
· The position also provides back-up support to HR leadership, ensuring continuity of HR services and guidance when needed.
· The successful candidate must be comfortable moving seamlessly between tactical execution and strategic partnership and be capable of operating independently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle
· Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless and professional employee experience
· Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries and day-to-day HR support
· Maintain accurate and compliant employee records and documentation
· Support managers with routine people-related matters, escalating more complex issues as appropriate
Employee Relations & Manager Support
· Act as an accessible resource for employees, providing guidance on workplace concerns and policies
· Partner with managers to address employee relations matters, offering balanced, practical recommendations
· Support documentation, issue resolution, and follow-up in alignment with company practices
· Assist in maintaining a consistent and fair employee experience across the organization
Compensation, Workforce Structure & Benefits
· Support benefit administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee education
· Assist in navigating and supporting a mixed workforce model (W-2 employees and 1099 contractors)
· Partner with HR leadership to support compensation and rewards processes with attention to market alignment and internal consistency
HRIS, Data & Reporting
· Maintain and administer HRIS systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
· Generate and analyze reports to support HR operations, compliance, and workforce insights
· Support system updates, audits, and continuous process improvement initiatives
Payroll & Cross-Functional Coordination
· Collaborate closely with Payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing
· Support data validation and issue resolution related to payroll inputs
· Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment across HR, payroll, and finance processes
Compliance & Risk Awareness
· Support HR compliance activities, including required filings and documentation
· Assist in ACA tracking and other regulatory processes as applicable
· Maintain awareness of federal, state, and local employment regulations, escalating risks as needed
· Help ensure HR practices are applied consistently and appropriately across the workforce
HR Team Support & Leadership Backup
· Provide coverage during HR leadership absences (e.g., HR Director PTO)
· Contribute to HR projects, audits, and process improvements
· Serve as a collaborative team member across HR and broader organizational functions
QUALIFICATIONS
· Strong working knowledge of HR processes and employment regulations (including ACA, FMLA, etc.)
· Ability to operate effectively in both tactical and complex HR scenarios
· Experience supporting compensation, benefits, and employee relations activities
· Strong judgment and attention to detail
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality
EDUCATION
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
· HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, etc.) a plus
EXPERIENCE
· 5+ years of progressive HR experience in a generalist or similar role
· Experience supporting compensation and total rewards administration
· Experience working in mixed workforce environments (W-2 and 1099)
· Experience partnering with Payroll and HR systems
· Employee relations support experience preferred
SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY
· Proficiency in HRIS platforms
· Proficiency in Paylocity is required
· Strong Excel skills
· Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
