POSITION SPECIFICS

The Stress, Health, Inequity, Family, and Toxic work behavior Laboratory (SHIFT) in the College of the Liberal Arts at the Pennsylvania State University, headed by Dr. Baylor Graham, is seeking a full-time Human Research Technologist.

The Human Research Technologist will have the opportunity to work with Industrial & Organizational (I-O) graduate students, investigating the structural and psychological forces that impair employee, health, safety, and well-being.

In doing so, the lab incorporates a number of techniques, including community-based participatory research methods and surveys.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Recruiting, scheduling appointments, and maintaining relationships with local organizational partnerships (virtually or in-person)

  • Working alongside Dr. Graham with organizational partners to complete consent forms and collect in-person data; this may include local travel

  • Coding, processing, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data

  • Database management and records collection

  • Handling the day-to-day activities in the lab, such as coordinating with the Institutional Review Board and monitoring project timelines

  • Coordinating with a large and dynamic team of researchers

  • Oversee undergraduate students who conduct research or assist in preparation of data; may assist in the interviewing, training, and scheduling of these students

The Human Research Technologist will also have the opportunity to present and disseminate research findings at industry, national, and international conferences.

Important Note: This position requires a flexible schedule to include working some evenings and weekends, primarily to accommodate conference participation and engagement with local organizational partners.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Associate Degree

Preferred Qualifications (one or more):

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Management, with a focus on Industrial & Organizational Psychology or Organizational Behavior

  • Experience in a lab that conducts qualitative data analysis

Important Note: This is not a fully remote position. In accordance with College guidelines, this position requires a minimum of three days per week of on-site work at the designated work location.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $33,504.00 - $48,552.00.
