Waikato/Midlands Region | 0.8–1.0 FTE | Hybrid Working | Regional Travel

The Immunisation Advisory Centre (IMAC) is New Zealand's national immunisation education provider, based within Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland. IMAC provides independent, evidence-based information on vaccine-preventable diseases and immunisation, drawing on both New Zealand and international scientific research.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine your clinical expertise with education, leadership and relationship-building, helping to ensure New Zealand's immunisation workforce has access to high-quality, evidence-based education and advice.

Working as part of a national team, you'll deliver vaccinator education programmes, contribute to the development of online learning resources, and provide trusted clinical support through IMAC's national 0800 IMMUNE service.

About the role

In this varied and rewarding position, you will:

  • Deliver engaging vaccinator education programmes using face-to-face, online and blended learning approaches.
  • Provide timely, evidence-based clinical advice to immunisation providers via the IMAC 0800 advice line and email service.
  • Support the planning, coordination and delivery of regional education programmes.
  • Develop and contribute to high-quality education resources and online learning materials.
  • Evaluate education programmes and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Regional Immunisation Advisers, healthcare providers and national stakeholders to strengthen immunisation capability across the region.
  • Promote equitable immunisation outcomes through practice that reflects Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Whakamaua: Māori Health Action Plan.

This is a remote role with regular travel throughout the Waikato/Midlands region to deliver education.

This  full-time role is 0.8 – 1.0 FTE (30 – 37.5 hrs per week) permanent role

The remuneration is between $85,000- $90,700 per annum, dependent on skills and experience (pro-rated)

About you

You're a Registered Nurse or Registered Pharmacist who is passionate about education, collaboration and improving health outcomes through immunisation. You enjoy sharing your knowledge, building trusted relationships, and supporting healthcare professionals to deliver best practice.

To be successful in this role, you'll :

  • Be  Registered Nurse or Registered Pharmacist with a current New Zealand issued Annual Practising Certificate
  • Be an Authorised Vaccinator or Pharmacist Vaccinator.
  • Have at least two years' post-registration clinical experience in immunisation services.
  • Have experience in delivering education, training or professional development, with a passion for adult learning.
  • Have excellent communication, facilitation and relationship-building skills.
  • Have strong critical thinking, problem-solving and organisational abilities, with the confidence to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Hold a current full New Zealand driver's licence and the ability to travel throughout the region.
  • Hold  an adult teaching and learning qualification and Workplace Assessor qualification, or a willingness to work towards both.
  • An interest in developing digital learning resources and contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Experienced with working with remote and hybrid team environment across multidisciplinary health settings and building effective partnerships.
  • An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to achieving
