Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Unified Communications Engineer to join our growing UC Engineering team.

This is not a traditional Audio/Visual (AV) or conference room support role.

We are looking for someone who is a subject matter expert in at least one major UC platform - Microsoft Teams Phone, Zoom Phone, or Webex Cloud Calling - and is excited to broaden their expertise across all three.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge with strong customer-facing skills. You will work directly with customers and partners to onboard new organizations, lead migrations to cloud voice platforms, solve complex voice and collaboration challenges, and serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the customer lifecycle.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats - consultant, engineer, trainer, troubleshooter, solution architect, and customer advocate.


What You'll Do

Customer Onboarding & Enablement

  • Lead customer onboarding and deployment engagements for Microsoft Teams Phone, Zoom Phone, and Webex Calling environments.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource during customer implementation and migration projects.
  • Conduct onboarding workshops, discovery sessions, technical training, and solution reviews.
  • Design and execute migration plans from legacy PBX and UC platforms.
  • Guide customers through best practices for cloud voice adoption and administration.
  • Deploy and validate third-party integrations including:
    • SMS and business messaging solutions
    • Compliance call recording platforms
    • UC reporting and analytics solutions

iPILOT Platform Engineering

  • Deploy, configure, and support Microsoft Teams Phone, Zoom Phone, and Webex Calling environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex voice, provisioning, routing, licensing, SBC, and integration issues.
  • Configure and support Direct Routing, Operator Connect, Zoom Phone & Webex Calling.
  • Support call flow design, voice migrations, and enterprise telephony deployments.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, support, and operations teams to resolve customer issues and improve customer onboarding experiences.

Partner & Customer Success

  • Act as a technical escalation point for customers and partners.
  • Build strong relationships through exceptional communication and problem-solving.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
  • Advocate for customer needs while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Deliver a high-quality onboarding and customer experience from project kickoff through production deployment.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 3+ years of hands-on administration, engineering, or consulting experience with one or more of the following:

    • Microsoft Teams Phone
    • Zoom Phone
    • Webex Calling
  • Deep expertise in at least one of the above platforms.

  • Experience working directly with customers in:

    • Implementations
    • Migrations
    • Onboarding
    • Technical consulting
    • Customer success
  • Experience supporting or integrating solutions such as:

    • Compliance call recording
    • SMS and messaging platforms
    • Contact center solutions
    • UCaaS and cloud communications integrations
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Ability to confidently lead customer-facing meetings, workshops, and technical presentations.

Preferred

  • Microsoft Teams Administrator or Teams Voice certifications.
  • Zoom Phone certifications.
  • Webex Calling certifications.
  • Experience with SaaS platforms and cloud-based service delivery.
  • Experience working with telecom service providers, MSPs, UCaaS providers, or technology partners.
  • Familiarity with APIs, automation, provisioning workflows, or integration platforms.
  • Experience with SBCs, SIP trunking, carrier services, or enterprise telephony migrations.

  • You've successfully led customer deployments from discovery through production.
  • You've personally led Teams Phone, Zoom Phone, or Webex Calling onboarding and migration projects.
  • You've deployed compliance recording, SMS/messaging, contact center, or similar UC integrations.
  • You're known as "the person everyone calls" for Teams, Zoom, or Webex questions.
  • You enjoy learning platforms beyond your primary specialization.
  • You can explain technical concepts to both engineers and executives.
  • You thrive in fast-moving environments where no two days look the same.
