Job Description

We're looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Manager to join our team in Old Noarlunga, Australia. In this pivotal role, you'll support the Store Manager in delivering exceptional customer experiences while driving operational excellence and team performance. You'll be instrumental in creating a positive, inclusive work environment where every team member feels valued and motivated to succeed.   • Lead, mentor, and support a diverse team of staff members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture
  • Assist in scheduling staff shifts, ensuring adequate coverage and optimal workforce planning
  • Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and cash handling
  • Maintain accurate financial records and reconcile cash registers, demonstrating analytical attention to detail
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve customer concerns with empathy and professionalism
  • Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to achieve store targets and goals
  • Train and onboard new team members, ensuring they understand company policies and procedures
  • Manage inventory levels, conduct stock counts, and coordinate with suppliers to maintain optimal stock availability
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies throughout all store operations
  • Analyze performance metrics and provide transparent feedback to team members during performance reviews
  • Support promotional activities and merchandising initiatives to enhance the customer experience
  • Communicate effectively with the Store Manager and other departments to ensure seamless operations
  • Demonstrate resilience and decisiveness when addressing operational challenges and unexpected situations

Qualifications

**Required Qualifications:**

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory or team lead experience in retail, hospitality, or service management
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate diverse teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Point of Sale (POS) systems and basic computer literacy
  • Solid understanding of inventory management and stock control procedures
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Valid driver's license (preferred)

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Retail management certification or equivalent professional qualification
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Experience with inventory management software or systems
  • Knowledge of sales performance optimization techniques
  • Background in staff training and development
  • Experience in a multi-site retail or hospitality environment
