Job Purpose

AHM Fixed Asset Associate supporting multiple BUs within AHM (including but not limited to: primarily Parts Service & Technical, General Admin, Auto Sales, Input Service Distributer (ISD) & Digital Services). Responsible for AHM & HDMA lease review and input. 

General accounting activities include: 
•    Monthly/quarterly/annual financial close, SOX and Financial Statement audit requests with a primary focus in AHM Fixed Assets. 
•    Support Corporate Accounting and Reporting Division with budget/actual spending control/analysis. 
•    Support/collaborate with Honda subsidiaries for process improvement and business plan activities.

Key Accountabilities

•    Closely support multiple AHM BUs (including but not limited to: Input Service Distributer, Digital Services, Parts Service & Technical, General Admin, and Auto Sales) for management of projects, support of capitalization processes, Work Breadown Structure creations, and asset management activity, including inventories and monthly reconciliation of results
•    Collaborate with business to gain and expand understanding over various fixed asset activities, connecting reporting requirements by meeting with appropriate reporting teams. 
•    Support Supervisor in gathering and continuing to collaborate with other business unit(s) in preparation for quarterly reporting.
•    Prepare AHM close journal entries, department accruals, account analyses, and related deliverables for General Accounting unit with a primary focus on AHM fixed assets and related accruals.
•    AHM & HDMA Capital Lease Administrator, review and enter leases into lease management system
•    Support Budget/Actual spending controls/analysis support for Corporate Accounting and Reporting Division – which includes budget development and coordination with multiple departments, and Remote support of New York office
•    Support AHM quarterly/annual financial audit (including SOX compliance)
•    Balance sheet reconciliation completion
•    Support business plan themes, Identify and implement process improvements and complete various ad-hoc projects

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field  

Minimum Experience:
College Graduate – 2 Years
Internships

Other Job-Specific Skills:
Accounting Systems experience (SAP Preferred)
Microsoft Office skills
Customer Service Mindset
Strong Communication skills & ability to develop relationships with customers
Understanding of SOX and International Financial Reporting Standards/US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Fixed Asset experience preferred
