Job description

Our client is a premium, European manufacturer of high end outdoor living structures, selling into the luxury home market across North America. The company has grown and continues on an aggressive growth trajectory and a strong pipeline of demand nationwide.

This is a considered, high ticket purchase category with a long sales cycle, an affluent and often high profile customer base, and a product that customers desire. This is not a transactional, one call close sales environment. It is relationship driven, consultative, and built on trust over months, not days.

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead and develop their West Region sales team.

The Role

Reporting to the head of the US sales organization, the Sales Manager will lead, coach, and develop a team of experienced Sales Executives spread across the western United States. This is a remote, field based leadership role. You will be expected to travel extensively, spend time in the field with your team, ride along on customer visits, and build the kind of face to face relationships that drive success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Sales Executives across the West region, driving consistent, profitable sales growth
  • Own regional sales budgets and KPIs, including calls, site visits, and sales conversion, and take corrective action where performance is falling short
  • Identify new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and channels to expand the customer base
  • Collaborate with marketing on regional campaigns and lead generation
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback, and adjust strategy accordingly
  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and budgets to senior leadership
  • Continually review and improve the end to end customer sales journey
  • Get in the field regularly: travel with your team, meet customers, and build the trust that a remote structure requires

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in business, marketing, or a related field
  • 8 to 12 years total sales experience, with at least 3 to 5 of those in a sales management or leadership capacity
  • Proven experience in a senior sales management or leadership role, ideally with a background in manufacturing, construction, home improvement, or a related considered purchase category
  • Experience selling a luxury or premium brand in a B2C environment
  • A track record of successfully leading and developing a remote or geographically dispersed sales team
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the confidence and credibility
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Comfortable and effective with CRM and standard Microsoft/sales technology tools
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively and consistently, including regular overnight travel

Location and Travel

This is a remote role. Candidates must be based within the western United States, with easy access to a major airport given the extensive travel requirements. A dedicated home office setup is required.

Travel is a core, non-negotiable part of this role, expect a minimum of several days on the road per month, including customer visits, team ride alongs, and occasional travel to company headquarters.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $120,000 to $140,000, depending on experience
  • Discretionary performance bonus
  • Benefits package included
