Job description

Trilogy Federal is looking for a motivated and independent Communications Specialist with knowledge and experience in both the federal government and of an organization going through a re-organization. This role comes with a focus on resolving complex issues, bridging communication gaps, and communications metrics to ensure adoption and minimize resistance to the new organization.  Tasks include presentations, newsletters, SharePoint support, and tracking metrics.  We are targeting to staff this position as soon as possible.  

We are seeking candidates for a full-time remote position, with potential opportunities for ad hoc onsite work in DC in the future (candidates local to the DC Metro Area strongly preferred).  

Please note this role is on a 3-month contract in which we are hopeful for an extension or additional work, but may be only 3 months. 


Primary Responsibilities:
  • Bridges the gap between executive vision and day-to-day operations, ensuring all internal and external communications are cohesive, culturally aligned, and measurable. 

  • Ability to take complicated issues and translate them into simple and direct products that are consistent and accurate. 

  • Writes, edits, and oversees high-quality content across newsletters, SharePoint, storytelling, change management strategy and engagement, Town Halls, FAQs, scripts, talking points, presentations, QA, surveys, hot sheets, executive leadership engagement, internal channels, etc. 

  • Tracks, measures, and reports on communication metrics (e.g., audience engagement, web traffic, press coverage) to continuously optimize strategies. Establish and monitor feedback loops, change management champions, facility focus groups, such as anonymous suggestion boxes and pulse surveys, to gauge employee sentiment and address anxieties. 


Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree 

  • 8 total years of experience 

  • 7+ years’ experience in communications working in the federal space

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Must have worked with VA/VHA Finance community at some point in career 

  • Excels in fast paced environment with quick turnaround times. 

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance 

  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal 

  • Strong command of MS Office tools 

  • Team building, organization, and leadership skills 

  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with senior level management and clients 

  • Expert in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint 

  • Strong attention to detail  

  • Strong analytical stills 

  • An outstanding ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines 


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graphic design and branding experience 

  • Experience working on Federal Government large scale reorganizations
