Job Summary:

Fulfil routine orders of blood products, provide good customer service and ensure successful and economic shipment of orders to provide a positive customer experience and ensure products are delivered on time and in budget. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. 

Pay Rate: Starting rate $17.00-18.00 per hour (possibly more for areas with a higher cost of living)

Schedule:

  • Full time, remote position

  • 3rd shift - 12:00 am to 8:30 am Eastern time, 5 days per week (must be willing to work weekends)

  • Must be open to working some holidays

Training: Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule for the first 4-6 weeks of training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and fulfill routine orders for a variety of blood and pharmaceutical products and transfusion-related supplies.

  • Work with and maintain data, tools or computer programs to facilitate management and monitoring of product and service information.

  • Rotate inventory of primary and remote facilities to ensure adequate supplies of products for the needs of customers.

  • Provide customer service to clients by proactively communicating with hospital customers to provide regular product/service information and making follow-up calls if product needs cannot be met as expected.

  • Determine most economical method of transportation for hospital shipments and investigate and resolve hospital shipment problems. 

  • Receive and investigate customer concerns and complete customer concerns documentation accurately and on time.

  • Assist hospital personnel with inventory alternatives when requested products are unavailable within established guidelines and procedures.

Qualifications: 

Education: High School or equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum one years related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Progressive experience in a dynamic, multi-task operational environment preferred. Experience in blood or pharmaceutical inventory management/hospital customer relations/logistics is preferred.  
Skills/Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Outstanding interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of customers and staff (paid and volunteer).  Must have excellent organizational skills, be able to handle multiple priorities effectively.   Problem solving and analytical skills.  Working knowledge of computers.
Travel: Some business travel may be required. 

* Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).
