SDET (Playwright / Typescript)

TypeScript | Playwright | £50,000 | 6 Month FTC | 98% Remote (UK)

I'm supporting a well-established UK software engineering consultancy that's looking to add an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to one of their client delivery teams.

This is a 6-month Fixed Term Contract paying up to £50,000.

The role is 98% remote, with attendance required in their Berkshire office on your first day and then once per quarter.

Rather than simply executing automated tests, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining automation that becomes part of the software delivery process. You'll work closely with developers, product teams and client stakeholders to ensure quality is considered from the very beginning of each project.

As this is a consultancy environment, you'll also spend time working directly with clients, helping shape automation approaches and providing technical guidance where needed.

You'll probably enjoy this role if...

• You enjoy writing clean, maintainable automation code. You need to be able to write this confidently, without leaning on AI tools to drive this build. It's acccepted that AI may play a part in your work, but understand the code, being able to write it without tools is a key way of showing your level of understanding.

• You enjoy solving technical problems and improving engineering practices.
  
• You're comfortable speaking with clients and building strong working relationships.
