Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Fire Alarm Service Technician to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing and programming fire alarm systems. What You’ll Do

  • Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
  • Assist in the testing, programming and commissioning of fire alarm and life safety systems.
  • Assist in the servicing of fire alarm and life safety systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programing of Fire Alarm Systems, schematics and operational/product manuals.
  • Execute all work in accordance with local and national codes, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Act as our customers best service provider at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the first choice for service.
  • Communicate and work with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center, and company.
  • Keep up to date and informed on all company policies.
  • Present a professional image of Convergint Technologies at all times in appearance and behavior.

What You’ll Need

  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
  • Solid technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
  • Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.

 Requirements:

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience

 

Minimum Experience: 3-5 years as a fire alarm service technician with experience in programming EST 3 or EST 4 (Edwards) fire alarm systems or similar complexity.

 

Preferred Experience: (but not required):  2 years of hands-on experience in the commercial/ industrial/ low voltage/ electrical industry.

  • NICET II Certification in Fire Alarm
  • Associates degree in Electronic technology, Instrumentation

 

 

Hourly Range; $30.00 - $40.00
