Primary Job Function


The Private Wealth Consultant (PWC) has the primary responsibility for executing a focused sales strategy within the given segmentation within a multi-state west region. The PWC will be responsible for positioning Thornburg’s mutual funds, SMA products, private strategies, ETFs, and any other future Thornburg products to financial advisors and professional buyers focusing on RIA’s and Bank Trusts to drive sale growth. Additionally, members of the Private Wealth team will work closely across TIM including, the TIM Investment team, Advisor Solutions Consultants, and Strategic Relationships team to execute on sales goals and initiatives for the year.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to develop and execute consultative sales strategies that will maximize market penetration and increase buyer loyalty across stated segmentation.
  • Maintain advisors in their assigned territory focusing on the service and growth of these long-term relationships.
  • Utilize technology and data effectively while adhering to TIM best practices.
  • Apply proficient and thorough use of CRM systems to manage territory activity, track advisor interactions, and support effective sales execution; leverage Salesforce when applicable.
  • Partner respectfully and collaboratively with internal teams, including marketing and other cross-functional partners, to ensure alignment with business strategy, capitalize on opportunities, and address specific challenges.
  • Promote strong collaboration across the organization, maximizing synergies within other channels of distribution.
  • Work closely with the corresponding Advisor Solutions Investment Consultant to ensure proper coverage and success of all remaining Advisor Solutions advisors in the territory.
  • Perform other job duties assigned as necessary.


Regional Responsibility


This position will require the appropriate individual to be based in the Western Region. Los Angeles, CA or San Francisco, CA- preferred.


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required (MBA, professional designations a plus).
  • 5+ years of experience covering large financial advisors and professional buyers with proven track record. Analytical or research experience within Asset Management, Investment Consulting or Wealth Management is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of asset allocation theory, portfolio construction, investment manager due diligence and modern portfolio theory.
  • FINRA Series 7 & 66 required, or equivalent of
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining long-term relationships.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the assigned territory required.
  • High degree of initiative results oriented and entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Highly engaged, enthusiastic, and a collaborative team player.
