We are actively seeking a Global Project Management (PM) Director.  The role will report directly to the EVP, Global Operations of Rimini Street.  Preferred location is the U.S.; other locations may be considered. This role may require periodic travel as necessary across the world.
 

Position Summary

To help execute Rimini Street’s plan to scale to $1B+/year in revenue, the EVP, Global Operations is seeking a Project Management Director.  This hands-on role is an individual contributor who leads and manages very complex, typically cross-functional projects in Rimini Street. In this role you will work closely with the senior leadership team, stakeholders, and subject matter experts across groups, functions, and geographies to drive projects to completion, on-time, on-budget, and with quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

ACTIVATE PROJECTS

  • Lead project sponsors and stakeholders to define initial project objectives, scope, outcomes, delivery dates, resource requirements, initial assumptions, and quality standards.

PLAN PROJECTS

  • Establish Agile Project Playbooks in collaboration with project sponsors, and project stakeholders, and SMEs. Project Playbook includes: 
    • Project objectives, scope, and outcomes
    • Project team members (executive sponsors, stakeholders, and subject matter experts) with RACI defined
    • Project approach / methodology
    • Detailed Agile project plan with schedule, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, critical path, and resource assignments/ownership
    • Budget
    • Change management / training
    • Issues/Risks
    • Assumptions
    • Governance (steering team meetings, status reporting, manage project changes (time, resources, scope)

KICK-OFF PROJECTS

  • Drive project kick-off meetings with executive sponsors, stakeholders, and subject matter experts

MANAGE PROJECTS

  • Drive / Manage execution of projects that includes:
    • Effective project governance (steering team meetings, status reporting, management of project changes to time, resources, scope)
    • Ensuring scope and objectives are achieved
    • Ensuring project tasks and milestones are delivered on time
    • Ensure deliverables meet/exceed the quality standard
    • Identification, tracking, and resolution of project issues / risks
    • Ensure project stays on budget
    • Ensure effective change management / training

PARTICIPATE AS AN ACTIVE TEAM MEMBER DOING REAL WORK

  • HANDS-ON
    • In addition to project management, act as a stakeholder or SME that owns or actively participates in specific project plan tasks and creation of project deliverables
    • In addition to identification and tracking of project issues/risks, act as a stakeholder or SME that owns or actively participates in the resolution of specific issues / risks

DRIVE PROJECT POST IMPLEMENTATION REVIEW

  • Drive post-project review to identify what went well and what needs to be improved in future projects

Professional Experience and Qualifications

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in project management roles in enterprise technology companies, preferably in global companies with at least $500M/year in revenue.
  • 7+ years of experience on projects related to enterprise software and services, including product development, product introduction/launches, software implementation or upgrades, data center migration, and service offering definition and delivery.
  • Experience leading complex projects that span multiple functions, teams, and geographies.
  • Experience on projects related to introducing new products or services and/or entering new markets or segments, either in start-up environments or working for international enterprise software companies.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to address business opportunities or challenges.
  • Experience with agile development methodology and/or agile project management.
  • Experience in global companies with highly decentralized work forces.
  • Experience in line jobs in one or more functional roles (Sales, Marketing, Finance, IT, Operations, etc.) highly desirable.
  • Experience in the Oracle, SAP and SaaS marketplaces desirable.
  • Experience in publicly traded companies desirable.

  • Outstanding Project Management skills, the ability to manage complex, multimillion-dollar projects to successful completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to combine strong analytical skills, qualitative analysis and people skills to solve complex business issues.
  • Ability to rapidly understand new business domains and become an active contributing member of a project.
  • Ability to integrate input across multiple dimensions and functions and synthesize into clear recommendations and actions.
  • Organizational skills to plan, lead, track and report on global, cross-functional projects.
  • Strong operational skills in executing project plans, adjusting to changes and challenges that arise to deliver on-time and on-budget.
  • Process-based orientation, and the discipline to define clear, viable processes and the change management required to implement.
  • Ability to make things happen in a cross-functional, matrixed org through relationships, influence and persuasion.
  • Outstanding communications skills, written, verbal and in presentations.
  • Strong leadership talents, exceptional attitude and spirit, and the ability to establish consensus across functional areas, and with internal customers.
  • Customer-centric approach and a passion for helping customers address issues and focus on improving their core business.
  • The passion and persistence to disrupt the status quo, introduce new technologies and drive alternative approaches to solving business challenges.
  • Willingness to embrace change and adapt in a rapidly evolving, fast-moving market and company.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, Master’s or MBA desirable
  • Valued Certifications: Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Project Management, Certified Scrum Master (CSM)

The general salary range for this type of role is 140k - 200k depending on skills and experience. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be based on several factors such as: a candidate's location, and the level of applicable skills and professional experience. Rimini’s target pay for each position is available upon request during the applicant’s Interview process.
