We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer level II to join our dynamic Marketing Technology team. This role operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Main Objective:
Develop, support, and maintain high-end and innovative software applications that support Arthrex’s mission of helping surgeons treat their patients better. Write high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code and collaborate in a cross-functional team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Actively participates in software development and team ceremonies as a member of a cross functional software development team.
2. Develops software features using established patterns and technology.
3. Contributes to all aspects of the technology stack from client-side programming to developing and deploying back-end services
4. Monitors applications for abnormalities and looks for areas to improve application availability and speed.
5. Investigates and addresses bugs.
6. Conducts code reviews, provides feedback, and suggests changes as needed.
7. Continuously learn new frameworks, programming languages, and tooling.
8. Collaborates effectively with team members, stakeholders, and cross-functional partners, maintaining open and respectful communication.
9. Occasional travel for training, meetings or trade shows may be required.
Skills:
Programming experience with a web or mobile language such as JavaScript, Swift, Go, Python, Kotlin or Java
Experience writing tests to validate code changes.
Experience with distributed version control systems such as Git.
Experience using agile software development methodologies.
Experience with a deployment pipeline such as GitHub Actions of Jenkins
Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace or Grafana
Experience in the development of web and/or mobile applications:
Front-end frameworks such as React, Vue or Angular
Experience with a full-stack/back-end framework such as Ruby on Rails preferred
Relational database design
Own full features end to end, collaborating with senior engineers on system-level impact.
Ability to reason through edge cases and debug issues within a feature.
Dependable contributor, aiding other engineers.
Understanding of the architecture, design and patterns of what they are building.
Discretion and Latitude:
Works under very general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.
Education/ Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· 2 years of professional experience or Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of software development experience
*While remote work may be considered for this position, preference will be given to candidates located in Naples, FL, or Waltham, MA.*
