The territory for this position will be the Western Part of the USA. We ask that the candidate live near a major metropolitan airport in the western part of the country.

 

The targeted cash compensation package (Base, Commissions and Bonus) for this position is $200,000 to $250,000. There is potential to exceed this amount based on experience and performance in the role. In addition to a generous 401k program, Arthrex contributes to a non-qualified retirement plan funded entirely by Arthrex on your behalf after one year of employment.

Arthrex is actively searching for a Cardiothoracic Business Development Manager to manage and lead our initiatives with regards to our sternal closure, imaging, and biologics product portfolio. Our Cardiothoracic product portfolio is one of the fastest growing areas for Arthrex as we seek to establish the organization as a leader in Cardiothoracic surgery worldwide. The successful candidate will build relationships with key customers, sales agencies, and internal departments to help drive our strategies and continued market growth. Excellent interpersonal, presentation and leadership skills along with five years or more of related experience and a bachelor’s degree are essential for this position. Main Objective:

The Regional Business Development Manager, Cardiothoracic will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Cardiothoracic product sales performance, training, and other activities with the sales force, surgeons, and accounts within his/her respective region.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Set business development strategy and asset deployment for agency Cardiothoracic business. Follow up with agencies frequently to ensure strategy is being executed. When needed identify weaknesses and offer evidence-based solutions.

•Serve as a resource to agencies to maximize growth and competency of product line.

•Launch Cardiothoracic new products within region. Re-launch when necessary.

•Govern Cardiothoracic product pricing structure and qualifying discounts as they relate to volume and commitment levels. Heavy intervention is required here due to the strategic nature of the Cardiothoracic product line. Working with local, regional and national buying groups is essential.

•Assisting representatives with evaluation and closing activities with key customers and collaborating with agencies on representative sales readiness as it relates to Cardiothoracic.

•Training representatives on Cardiothoracic products and sales cycle as needed.

•Communicating agency focus and structure as it relates to Cardiothoracic to Director of Global Cardiothoracic Business Development, Senior RM and SVP Sales.

•Communicating product attributes and shortcomings to product managers and recommending product line enhancements.

•Collecting key competitive information and ensuring that knowledge drives both sales effectiveness and product development direction.

•Coaching, teaching, and when necessary, directing Cardiothoracic team via conference calls and in person visits on products/sales strategy/competitive info.

•Engage current and identify new Key Opinion Leaders for Local, Regional, and National peer to peer interactions.

•Lead or assist on 2-3 projects every 6 months.

•Up to 75% travel.

 

Education and Experience:

•Bachelor's degree required.

•5+ years’ sales experience with Cardiothoracic products required.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

•Willing to work with cadaver specimens

•Knowledge of surgical orthopedics and Cardiothoracic.

•Skilled in working with different functions and effectively coordinates their activities to achieve desired results.

•Excellent listening skills, including the ability to identify and isolate customers’ concerns or objections, in addition to excellent written and oral communication skills.

•Strong relationship building skills are desired.

•Effective time management, communications, decision making, presentation, and organization skills.

•Excellent writing, editing, communications, and interpersonal skills.

•Professional appearance and presentation required.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Strong knowledge and usage of Microsoft Office. PC’s and various software languages used as required.  Salesforce.com experience is a plus.
