Job Summary

The Program Manager, Retail Sales is responsible for leading retail sales execution, driving market growth, and developing high-performing field teams across an assigned territory. This role combines strategic sales leadership with people management to increase distribution, grow sales volume, strengthen brand visibility, and deliver exceptional retail execution.

Working closely with clients, distributors, wholesalers, and cross-functional teams, you'll use market insights and performance data to develop winning strategies, coach field teams, and ensure programs are executed with excellence. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with a passion for sales, talent development, and delivering measurable business results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop field sales teams to achieve sales objectives, strengthen performance, and foster a high-performing culture.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor team members while establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop and execute retail sales strategies that increase distribution, sales volume, product visibility, and market share.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, retailers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze sales performance, market trends, and field insights to identify growth opportunities and recommend strategic improvements.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and resource planning to support program goals and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor field execution to ensure compliance with client standards, brand guidelines, and operational expectations.
  • Utilize CRM and reporting tools to track sales performance, evaluate team productivity, and communicate results to leadership.
  • Provide in-market coaching and support through regular field visits, distributor meetings, and collaborative planning sessions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives and continuous program improvement.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in field sales, preferably within the beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or related industry.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing successful field sales teams.
  • Demonstrated success driving retail sales growth, distribution expansion, and market execution.
  • Experience managing sales budgets, performance metrics, and KPI-driven programs.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% within the assigned territory and work flexible hours as business needs require.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Work Environment
  • This is a fully remote position that offers the flexibility of working from home while collaborating closely with clients and cross-functional teams across the organization. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Candidates should be available during these core business hours to support team collaboration, client meetings, and project execution.
  • Success in this role requires a dedicated home office with reliable high-speed internet, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and strong communication skills while working independently and as part of a collaborative remote team. Occasional travel may be required for client meetings, field visits, activations, training, or other business needs.
Compensation
  • Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000
  • Bonus Potential: 10%
  • Communication Allowance: $150 per month
  • Wellness Benefit: $50 per month
