Our Team
We’re building the next-generation manufacturing platform that will power billions of dollars in annual revenue across our global manufacturing network. Comet is foundational to our strategy for unlocking manufacturing and supply chain excellence, and we’re looking for a Principal Engineer to help accelerate deployment and scale-up at our newest manufacturing site in Ciudad Juárez.
This role will serve as the senior engineering representative for the Fulfillment Engineering organization regularly present at our Ciudad Juárez manufacturing site. Working alongside customers across functions in the plant, our own distributed software engineering teams, Product, Support, and TPM, this role helps ensure the successful deployment, adoption, and operation of the Comet platform—both on-site and remotely.
Success in this role comes from combining deep technical expertise with a strong understanding of Mass Customization manufacturing operations, our Comet system, and a highly collaborative approach. The Principal Engineer is an embedded technical representative of the Fulfillment organization, helping bridge the gap between plant operations and software engineering, supporting Comet’s development on the ground. This is a highly visible leadership role for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working directly with manufacturing teams, and influencing the evolution of a mission-critical platform through close partnership across multiple functions.
What You Will Do
Technical Leadership
- Serve as the senior technical representative of the Fulfillment Engineering organization at the Ciudad Juárez manufacturing site.
- Provide technical leadership and input architectural guidance for manufacturing-related initiatives.
- Support investigation of complex production issues spanning multiple services, systems, and engineering domains.
- Partner with engineering teams to identify root causes and drive durable platform improvements rather than tactical fixes.
- Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across the local engineering presence.
Manufacturing Partnership
- Build trusted relationships with plant leadership, Manufacturing Engineering, operators, and operational teams.
- Develop a deep understanding of manufacturing workflows, constraints, and operational objectives.
- Translate manufacturing challenges into actionable technical insights for engineering teams.
- Ensure engineering decisions are informed by firsthand operational experience.
Operational Excellence
- Partner closely with Support and TPMs during production incidents, deployments, and major operational events.
- Accelerate issue diagnosis and communication while reinforcing—not replacing—established support processes.
- Improve reliability, observability, and operational readiness across manufacturing systems.
- Identify recurring operational pain points and drive systemic improvements into the platform.
Organizational Representation
- Serve as the embedded engineering representative for the Fulfillment Engineering organization within the manufacturing site.
- Strengthen collaboration between manufacturing operations and globally distributed engineering teams.
- Bring operational learnings back into engineering and product discussions to improve future platform capabilities.
- Build confidence in Comet through technical leadership, responsiveness, and trusted partnerships across organizations.
