  • Prepare 2D floor plans, 3D renders, visual presentations, and design concepts to support customer proposals and sales discussions.
  • Use design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, or similar tools to produce accurate and visually engaging design outputs.
  • Incorporate furniture, storage, play equipment, learning resources, and product range items into room layouts and design concepts.
  • Support the sales team by creating visual design materials that help customers understand proposed layouts, product selections, and room possibilities.
  • Research early learning room setup, childcare design principles, teaching approaches, and age-appropriate learning environments to inform design recommendations.
  • Design spaces that balance aesthetics, practicality, product suitability, child development needs, educator workflow, and customer requirements.
  • Create mood boards, product selections, furniture layouts, colour concepts, and presentation materials where required.
  • Apply strong spatial awareness to optimise room zoning, circulation, quiet areas, active play areas, collaborative spaces, and storage solutions.
  • Assist with product placement recommendations to ensure layouts are commercially suitable and aligned with customer needs.
  • Use AI-assisted design, research, visualisation, or presentation tools where appropriate to improve speed, creativity, and design output.
  • Work collaboratively with sales, product, and customer-facing teams to interpret briefs, clarify requirements, and deliver suitable design concepts.
  • Revise layouts, renders, and design presentations based on internal feedback, customer feedback, or project requirements.
  • Maintain organised design files, templates, product references, project notes, and presentation materials.
  • Stay updated with interior design trends, early learning space planning, educational environments, furniture layouts, and visual presentation techniques.
  • Other position-level duties as they arise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Spatial Design, Industrial Design, Furniture Design, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in interior design, space planning, architectural design, fit-out design, furniture layout, or a similar design role.
  • Strong experience creating 2D layouts, 3D renders, room concepts, design presentations, and visual materials for customer or stakeholder review.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, Revit, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of interior design principles, spatial planning, furniture placement, room flow, zoning, scale, proportion, colour, and visual presentation.
  • Experience designing education, childcare, early learning, commercial, hospitality, retail, or community spaces is highly regarded.
  • Ability to create practical layouts that consider safety, accessibility, supervision, storage, circulation, usability, and customer requirements.
  • Strong ability to interpret customer briefs, room dimensions, product information, and functional requirements into clear design concepts.
  • Experience incorporating furniture, storage, fixtures, equipment, or product ranges into design layouts is highly regarded.
  • Strong visual presentation skills, with the ability to produce clear, polished, and commercially useful design concepts.
  • Ability to research design trends, early learning environments, teaching approaches, and space planning ideas to strengthen design recommendations.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted design, rendering, research, or presentation tools is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail when preparing layouts, renders, product placements, measurements, design notes, and presentation materials.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain design concepts and practical recommendations to non-design stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple design requests, revisions, files, and deadlines at the same time.
