Position Title: Interpreter
Department: Legal Operations
Reports To: Assigned Attorney / Operations Manager
Location: Remote
Schedule: Full-time, aligned with Pacific Standard Time (PST) business hours


Position Summary

IS Law is seeking a highly professional and detail-oriented Interpreter to support attorneys and legal staff by providing accurate interpretation services and administrative coordination. The ideal candidate has previous experience interpreting in a legal environment and is familiar with legal terminology, professional standards, and client interactions.

This role requires exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and excellent verbal and written English communication. In addition to interpretation responsibilities, the Interpreter will assist with scheduling, calendar management, and coordination of client appointments while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Interpretation Services

  • Provide accurate and impartial interpretation between English and Spanish during client meetings, attorney consultations, interviews, and other legal communications.
  • Ensure complete and faithful interpretation without omissions, additions, or personal opinions.
  • Assist attorneys in facilitating effective communication with clients throughout the legal process.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with professional and legal standards.

Administrative Support

  • Coordinate and manage attorney calendars, appointments, and client meetings.
  • Schedule consultations and maintain accurate scheduling records.
  • Monitor deadlines and assist with time-sensitive tasks to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Support daily administrative operations as assigned.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation.

Client Communication

  • Serve as a professional point of contact for clients.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally via phone, email, and virtual meetings.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining empathy and professionalism.
  • Follow up with clients regarding appointments and requested information.

Operational Support

  • Prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with attorneys and internal team members.
  • Maintain accuracy while handling multiple concurrent responsibilities.
  • Identify scheduling conflicts and proactively propose solutions.

Qualifications

Required

  • Fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken and written).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Previous professional interpreting experience.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to work full-time during Pacific Standard Time (PST) business hours.

Preferred

  • Previous experience as an interpreter in a legal, immigration, or law firm environment.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and legal procedures.
  • Experience managing attorney calendars and scheduling appointments.
  • Experience working remotely with virtual communication platforms.
