The Delivery Manager (DM) oversees the implementation of Lean Business Cases (LBCs) through the delivery of Portfolio and Program Epics, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and customer needs while optimizing delivery processes and fostering collaboration among team members. The DM is accountable for managing scope, budget, schedule, and alignment of resources to deliver the required capabilities on time to support value realization. They provide transparency for and orchestrate any changes in delivery dates, cross dependencies, and forecasts. The role also involves managing key stakeholders, collaborating with business partners, and monitoring progress against goals, with timely escalation and mitigation of risks and other barriers to success.
Responsibilities:
Lean Business Case (LBC) and Opportunity Canvas (OC):
Represent the Delivery Domain and provide guidance on level of effort, capacity, and commitments during decomposition of scope and value.
Manage delivery activities with visibility across Jira boards, ensuring Epics meet the Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD).
Provide accurate reporting of metrics, schedule expectations, status, and roadmap alignment.
Serve as a point of escalation for issues, risks, impediments, and conflicts.
Ensure financial reporting for Epics, including budgets, forecasts, estimates, and actuals.
Strategic Vision and Roadmap:
Understand internal and external factors that impact the scope, timing, and cost of delivery work.
Stakeholder Communication:
Provide regular status updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Ensure collaboration and alignment across key personnel, including product, engineering, architecture, and business partners.
Risk & Issue Resolution:
Responsible for proactively identifying risks related to financials, scope, resource, capacity, and delivery. Ensure risks are mitigated, issues are resolved, resource gaps are addressed, and the delivery of value remains on target.
Continuous Improvement:
Foster an environment of continuous improvement using appropriate measures and metrics.
Promote best practices in delivery processes.
Deployment and Release Support:
Engage with and provide support for deployments and releases as needed.
Financial Review and Change Management:
Review LBC financials, evaluating against the approved financial targets and benefits goals.
Ensure the creation of action plans to address variances and effectively manage change controls.
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management or delivery management roles, preferably within Healthcare.
Education: Bachelorβs degree required. Bachelor's in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. A Master's degree is a plus.
Certifications: PMP, PMI, or Scaled Agile Inc certification desired (SPC, SA, SSM, PO) or other relevant project management certifications are highly desirable.
Critical Skills & Attributes:
Strong technical aptitude and experience leading teams in delivering quality software using Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or other scaling models.
