Description:

CTG is seeking a Software Engineer II to support a major enterprise application modernization initiative for our client. This remote, 5-month contract role will focus on migrating a Java Spring Boot and Oracle Exadata application to a modern .NET, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Azure platform.

 

The ideal candidate has experience with cloud migrations, enterprise application development, and delivering high-quality software solutions in complex environments.

 

Location: Remote
Duration: 5 months

Primary Responsibilities

  • Migrate enterprise applications from Java Spring Boot and Oracle Exadata to .NET, Microsoft SQL Server, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Design, develop, test, debug, and implement enterprise software solutions.
  • Perform systems analysis and create scalable application designs.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, operations, QA, and business teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans while troubleshooting and resolving application issues.
  • Lead technical efforts on complex projects and mentor junior developers.
  • Prepare technical documentation, specifications, project estimates, and implementation plans.
  • Analyze system integrations and recommend improvements to application architecture and development processes.
  • Ensure compliance with development standards, security requirements, risk management policies, and internal controls.
  • Support production applications and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Independently perform advanced systems analysis and software development.
  • Lead technical activities for application modernization projects.
  • Coordinate development tasks and provide guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Partner with technical leadership, business stakeholders, and vendors to deliver project objectives.
  • Participate in project planning, technical evaluations, and strategic technology initiatives.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers.
  • Coordinate project assignments and monitor technical deliverables.
  • Lead project activities without direct personnel management responsibilities.

Education and Experience Required

  • Associate's degree with at least 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience, or 7 years of combined education and professional experience.
  • Experience with:
    • Microsoft Azure
    • Azure cloud migrations
    • .NET development
    • Microsoft SQL Server
    • Enterprise application modernization
  • Experience migrating Java Spring Boot applications to .NET platforms.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing multiple technical initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting financial services or banking applications.
  • Knowledge of enterprise application frameworks and system integrations.
  • Experience working within Agile development environments.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive approach to solving technical challenges and driving project success.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $46.64 to $77.74 per hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefits package is also offered.
