Job description

This is a remote position.

Currently, we are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join our Engineering team. Join a small, specialised team that’s responsible for the backbone of our products. Operating in a pretty complex environment (cloud + more than 400 VMs) you will develop, deploy and maintain the infrastructure, solutions, and processes that enable the delivery and support of our software.

The role

As our Lead DevOps Engineer, you will take ownership of our complex, distributed infrastructure, bridging the gap between software development and stable, scalable operations. You will guide the team's technical direction, ensuring our platforms are highly automated, secure, and resilient.

What you'll actually do

  • Collaborate with software development teams and support their releases, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Design and implement automated infrastructure.
  • Maintain existing cloud infrastructure/VMs.
  • Monitor the environment, analyse and solve problems if required.
  • Utilise your understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle to proactively optimise and automate infrastructure and processes.

→ Tech stack

Linux (Rocky Linux), Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, FluxCD, Ansible, Terraform, GitLab CI, Zabbix, Grafana, QuestDB, Prometheus, MariaDB, NGINX, DigitalOcean, AWS, GCP, Bash, Perl, Python, Node.js, PHP.

Requirements

What we're looking for

  • Experience — At least 5 years of experience in a similar role (DevOps, SysOps, or Linux Administrator) within complex, distributed infrastructures.
  • Linux & Containers — Proficiency in Linux, particularly Rocky Linux, alongside being comfortable working with Docker.
  • Orchestration & GitOps — Fluent in Kubernetes and Helm, with practical experience working with FluxCD.
  • Monitoring & Observability — Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Grafana, QuestDB, and Prometheus.
  • Automation & CI/CD — Proficient in using configuration management and automation tools like Ansible and Terraform, and experienced in creating automated deployments using GitLab CI.
  • Web & Databases — Familiar with MariaDB administration and NGINX, plus proven ability to support infrastructure for applications written in PHP, Node.js, and/or Python.
  • Scripting — Knowledge of at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, Perl, Python, or Go).
  • Cloud Platforms — 2+ years of experience working with cloud platforms such as DigitalOcean and AWS and/or GCP.
  • Languages — Polish at a C1 level (fluent in both written and verbal communication) and English at a B2 level (good written and verbal communication skills).

→ Nice to have

  • Data & Operations — Experience working with Rundeck, n8n, Clickhouse, ELK stack, Databricks, Dagster, Airflow, Airbyte, DataHub, and BigQuery.
  • Security & Compliance — Familiarity with PCI-compliant infrastructures and security standards/tools related to system, application, and infrastructure protection.

→ Recruitment process

  1. Interview with Recruiter (30-40 minutes)
  2. Technical interview with Hiring Manager and teammate (90 minutes)
  3. Final conversation with the Engineering Director and Engineering Manager
During the process we'll explore how you actually use AI in your daily work, how you approach ownership, product thinking and technical decisions. We're much more interested in your judgment than in perfect prompts.
