Job description

At Satellite, we are looking for a driven, smart and ambitious Senior/Lead Python Engineer to join our team to work with one of the major US investment companies!

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading the design and implementation of complex product features and client solutions;

Working directly with clients to understand business requirements, propose technical solutions, and drive delivery;

Developing and maintaining scalable back-end systems using Python;

Making architectural decisions and ensuring high standards of code quality, performance, and maintainability;

Identifying bottlenecks, risks, and opportunities for process and system improvements;

Designing and optimizing data processing workflows, including complex SQL-based data manipulation and orchestration;

Integrating external data sources, APIs, and best-in-class third-party technologies;

Driving engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and observability;

Mentoring team members and contributing to the overall technical growth of the team;

Taking ownership of projects throughout the entire lifecycle, from discovery and design to production release and support.

You’ll Be A Great Fit If You Have:

University degree (ideally in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field);

7+ years of professional experience in software engineering with Python as a primary language;

Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices;

Hands-on experience building and maintaining production-grade backend systems;

Strong SQL skills and experience working with complex data pipelines and data-intensive applications;

Experience with Pandas and data processing frameworks;

Solid experience with automated testing and a quality-first engineering mindset;

Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines;

Ability to independently drive technical initiatives and make sound engineering decisions with minimal supervision;

Strong ownership mentality and accountability for business outcomes, not just code delivery;

Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with clients and stakeholders;

Passion for continuous learning, professional growth, and improving both products and engineering processes;

Strong verbal and written English (B2–C1) – MUST.
