Location: [Chennai]

Experience Level: 6+ years of experience within the Salesforce ecosystem

Department: Enterprise Applications / Revenue Operations

Role Definition

The Salesforce Functional Application Analyst for Billing & Downstream Integrations serves as the functional lead responsible for translating high-level monetization and billing solution designs into detailed, scalable, and executable application configurations within the Salesforce ecosystem.

This role ensures accurate billing execution, revenue alignment, and seamless integration between Salesforce billing capabilities and downstream financial, entitlement, and operational systems. You will play a critical role in enabling end-to-end quote-to-cash processes, ensuring billing correctness, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

⚙️ Application Design & Configuration

  • Functional Ownership: Own and manage the end-to-end functional design for billing processes within Salesforce Billing.

  • Monetization Support: Design and support scalable billing models for subscription, usage-based, and hybrid monetization structures.

  • Billing Logic: Define invoice generation logic, proration rules, credit/debit adjustments, and billing schedules while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and financial controls.

🔄 Quote-to-Cash & Downstream Integrations

  • Lifecycle Management: Support the full quote-to-cash lifecycle (CPQ to Billing to Revenue), defining functional flows for contract amendments, renewals, cancellations, and mid-cycle changes.

  • System Coordination: Coordinate and validate data flows between Salesforce Billing and downstream systems including ERPs, revenue recognition platforms, tax engines, payment gateways, and entitlement platforms.

  • Data Integration: Partner with integration teams on API-based, event-driven, and batch processing solutions to ensure financial reconciliation and data consistency.

📋 Requirements Translation & Delivery Support

  • Agile Execution: Convert high-level epics and business requirements into detailed user stories with clear, testable acceptance criteria using Jira and Confluence.

  • Delivery Collaboration: Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, and functional clarification throughout delivery cycles alongside Product Owners and Engineering teams.

👥 Stakeholder Collaboration & Production Support

  • Cross-Functional Interface: Act as the key functional bridge between Finance, Revenue Operations, Engineering, and Solution Architecture across multiple time zones.

  • Tier 2/3 Support: Provide Level 2 and Level 3 production support, troubleshooting invoicing discrepancies, payment failures, and system synchronization issues to continuously optimize billing performance.

What You Bring to the Team

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.

  • Salesforce Experience: 6+ years of experience within the Salesforce ecosystem, with a strong, dedicated focus on Salesforce Billing.

  • Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of quote-to-cash processes, subscription billing, usage-based billing, invoicing, and financial reconciliation.

  • Global Collaboration: Proven experience collaborating with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones.

  • Tooling: Hands-on experience working in Agile environments using Jira and Confluence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience integrating Salesforce Billing with enterprise ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

  • Exposure to automated revenue recognition systems (RevRec platforms).

  • Experience with specialized tax engines, payment gateways, and financial compliance systems.

  • Background operating in high-volume, enterprise-level billing environments.

Key Competencies:

  • Analytical Thinker: Detail-oriented with a sharp focus on financial accuracy, compliance, and architectural scalability.

  • Strong Communicator: Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to speak fluently to both finance professionals and technical developers.

  • Agile Adaptability: Ability to thrive and maintain momentum in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving agile environment.
