Job Description:

Position Summary:
The Senior Project / Task Manager is responsible for providing technical, administrative, and operational leadership for assigned projects or task orders. This role manages tasks execution, oversees multidisciplinary teams, ensures quality deliverables, and serves as a primary liaison with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders. The manager is accountable for successful project planning, execution, risk management, and alignment with organizational goals.  This position will report to the Technical Delivery Manager’s Team. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical, administrative, and operational management across assigned task orders.

  • Facilitates direct technical collaboration with multiple commercial vendors ensuring alignment with best practices

  • Oversee day‑to‑day execution of all assigned task orders, ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule

  • Build detailed project schedules in Microsoft Project, including dependencies, milestones, and critical path analysis.

  • Draft weekly and monthly status reports summarizing progress, risks, decisions, and next steps.

  • Facilitate internal planning sessions to clarify priorities across competing tasks.

  • Provide resource forecasts to leadership, including staffing gaps or skills required.

  • Develop and maintain a project risk register with probability, impact, and mitigation strategies.

  • Lead risk review meetings with stakeholders to evaluate emerging or evolving threats to project delivery.

  • Produce risk reports and escalate critical issues to leadership as required.

  • Ensures quality assurance of project deliverables.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

  • Participates in special projects as required.

  • Participate in the development of technical project plans, reports, schedules, and administrative documentation.

  • Perform high-level technical support or subject-matter advisory work as required.

  • Conduct project planning and provide recommendations to clients regarding resource allocation and task prioritization.

  • Manage project risks, including identification, tracking, mitigation planning, and reporting.

  • Attend customer meetings and serve as a primary client liaison for assigned efforts.

  • Coordinate with vendors, partner agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.

  • Direct the development, tracking, and delivery of contractual deliverables and project products.

  • Ensure quality assurance standards are applied to all project deliverables.

  • Maintain awareness of relevant technologies, tools, and best practices aligned with project needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • 5+ years of project, program, or task management experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams across multiple disciplines.

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong customer service skills with a proven ability to anticipate and mitigate customer challenges.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project).

  • Experience with business operations and project execution strategies.

  • Strong administrative, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Effective people management and leadership skills.

  • Understanding of company processes, procedures, and policies.

  • Ability to align project activities with organizational strategic goals.

  • Secret Security Clearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile/Scrum, or domain-specific certs) depending on assignment.

  • Experience leading efforts in matrixed or highly technical environments.

  • Demonstrated experience working directly with government customers and/or multi-agency partners.

The likely salary range for this position is $112,840 - $141,450. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
