Position: Technical Writer (Academic Course Development)
Number of hours: 40 hours/week
Schedule: EST
Tasks required:
Work with the client to create course materials (syllabi, assignments, lecture notes and slides) for graduate-level courses based on primary reading materials
(textbooks) in business, entrepreneurship, software engineering, or artificial intelligence
Work with the client to review and select appropriate reading materials for the course Read and summarize selected materials
Work with the client to iterate on drafted materials, making adjustments as necessary to improve the quality of student experience
Requirements:
Proven work experience as a Technical Writer or a relevant role is required
English writing experience in a technical or academic context (scientific research writing, non-fiction books, or teaching)
Ability to read and understand difficult texts independently
Versatility with software-based communication tools (e.g. office software, document preparation, slide design, etc.)
Experience doing academic research; peer-reviewed research publications is highly preferred
Background in either business, accounting, or education is a huge advantage
Outstanding English communication and interpersonal abilities
Self-disciplined and organized; able to consistently perform with limited supervision
