Job Overview:

The Head of Product Development will be responsible for overseeing the entire product lifecycle from conception to launch. This includes defining the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, managing the product development team, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality financial products that meet market needs and drive business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the product strategy and roadmap, aligning with the clients business objectives and market demands.
  • Vet, hire, and manage an outsourced development team to expedite product development and deployment. Ensure flawless execution of product releases.
  • Identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape through comprehensive research and analysis.
  • Interface directly with customers and vendors, leveraging your exceptional communication skills to understand their needs and deliver optimal solutions.
  • Establish product goals, success metrics, and KPIs to measure and track performance.
  • Work with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer support teams to ensure cohesive product development and go-to-market strategies.
  • Lead, inspire, and mentor the development team, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability.
  • Promote a customer-centric approach, ensuring customer needs and feedback guide decision-making.
  • Act as the primary contact for product-related communications with internal and external stakeholders and present updates to the executive team and investors.
  • Foster strong relationships with partners, vendors, and industry experts to stay informed about emerging technologies and market trends.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in product development processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Uphold stringent standards of compliance and security in payment processing, ensuring regulatory adherence and data protection.
  • Extensive experience in AWS, creating affiliate links, and successfully integrating and aligning third-party APIs.
  • Drive the entire product lifecycle from design to launch, developing cross-functional partnerships and defining requirements and roadmaps.
  • Drive operational efficiencies and cost-effectiveness in product development while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of proven work experience as a Head of Product Development Manager or similar role
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; able to engage effectively with stakeholders, customers, and partners
  • Proven track record of clear communications with C-suite stakeholders and across cross-functional teams
  • Data-driven method for decision-making using KPIs and metrics
  • Must have a background working with Fintech companies like Visa, Apple, Paypal, American Express, or similar.
  • Proven track record of influencing policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Extensive experience leading product teams in fintech or SaaS, delivering complex, high-impact solutions
  • Strong understanding of payment processing technologies, APIs, and integrations; able to guide development teams effectively
  • Proven track record of launching visually appealing, user-friendly products
  • Skilled at driving projects from start to finish under tight deadlines; experience with outsourced development teams is a plus
  • Self-starter thriving in fast-paced environments; capable of making strategic decisions independently
  • Analytical thinker with business acumen; able to create accurate cost and profitability models and projections
