Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst with a focus on Fixed Income to join their buy-side team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business analysis within the Fixed Income domain, with expertise in various Fixed Income instruments. The candidate should possess excellent analytical skills, a deep understanding of data governance principles, and proficiency in technical tools for data analysis and system analysis.

Responsibilities:

1. Business Analysis at Buy-Side Fixed Income Firm: Utilize your expertise in business analysis to gather, document, and analyze business requirements, particularly within the Fixed Income domain at a buy-side firm.
2. Fixed Income Instruments: Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and experience in various Fixed Income instruments, including bonds, derivatives, and structured products.
3. Data Governance and Data Quality: Ensure high data quality is maintained throughout the data lifecycle of projects by applying data governance principles and implementing quality control measures.
4. SQL Proficiency: Write SQL queries, understand stored procedures, and conduct data analysis to extract insights from large datasets and support business decision-making.
5. Process Improvement: Assess current business processes, identify areas for improvement, and propose change-driven solutions to enhance business outcomes and efficiency.
6. Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in technical tools and techniques for data analysis, documentation, and system analysis, including SQL, data modeling, and system architecture.
7. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to conduct root cause analysis on system, process, or production problems, and provide viable solutions to address them.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis at a buy-side Fixed Income firm.
• Experience with various Fixed Income instruments, including bonds, derivatives, and structured products.
• Working knowledge of data governance principles and ability to ensure high data quality.
• Proficiency in writing SQL queries, understanding stored procedures, and conducting data analysis.
• Innate ability to assess current processes and propose change-driven solutions for improvement.
• Proficiency in technical tools for data analysis and system analysis, including SQL, data modeling, and system architecture.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and provide viable solutions.
• Experience working with large datasets and basic knowledge of Python.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with Business Intelligence Reporting tools.
• Experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Understanding of relational database models and experience with business analysis best practices and industry standards.
