Senior/Founding DevOps Engineer
for Blockchain Startup

Form: remote/Switzerland

Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, testing, implementation, and management of projects to deliver scalable, maintainable, secure, and stable deployments across various use cases.
• Identify opportunities for automation to enhance infrastructure management.
• Assess and mitigate systemic risks by evaluating, proposing, and implementing solutions.
• Manage and monitor cloud and physical servers across multiple global hosting services and data centers.
• Automate blockchain software build, installation, and management processes.
• Administer, harden, and secure Linux servers, implementing intrusion detection and vulnerability scanning.
• Troubleshoot complex distributed blockchains to ensure smooth operation.
• Identify and address bottlenecks in tasks and processes to enhance team efficiency.
• Communicate technical vision and initiatives to Engineering Leadership and Product teams.
• Mentor other team members and share technical expertise.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience supporting Linux servers in large environments (500+ servers), preferably in highly secure and available 24/7 environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to quickly identify and resolve server, network, and application issues.
• Experience troubleshooting complex application flows across multiple system clusters.
• Knowledge of OS and application-level settings for performance optimization.
• Proficiency in system administration scripting languages like Bash and Python.
• In-depth experience using Ansible (or similar tools) in large environments.
• Experience creating well-organized modules with Terraform for cloud provisioning automation.
• Experience creating image build pipelines with Packer.
• Deep understanding of networking and security best practices.
• Experience with Hashicorp Vault or similar secure storage tools.
• Experience working in high-security environments.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Ansible role testing (Molecule) and Ansible module development.
• Knowledge of Proof-of-Work and Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanisms.
• Experience running applications on Kubernetes.
• Experience creating CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar tools).
