GAAP Accountant

Viridian Staffing'sClient is looking for an experienced, self-starter to become an Accountant about 45 minutes north of the Newark, New Jersey, area, and about 45minutes west of the Yonkers, New York, area in Paterson. This position is on-site-no remote working arrangement will be considered.

If you are the typeof individual to take initiative and get excited about the opportunity tonavigate a new industry, then this position could be for you.  You would need to be able to deal with anddevelop solutions for challenges including the 280e tax code and a lack ofbanking resources.  In order to do this,diplomacy in addition to strong written and verbal communication skills will berequired.  You should be known for yourintegrity and discretion, having experience with audits, financial statements,payroll, account reconciliations, bookkeeping (write-ups) & performing month end closes.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of work experience in GAAP Accounting
  
• Exceptional analytical and strategic Accounting skills
  
• Experience in the areas of business tax preparation, audit and compliance driven accounting
  
• Proficiency with and ability to ramp up quickly on enterprise software solutions.
  
• Proven experience with Quickbooks Desktop and Online
  
• Knowledge of payroll entry allocation
  
• Knowledge of financial reports such as but not limited to the following:  Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet, etc.
  
• Cash Management experience
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business
  
• Experience in Manufacturing, Retail, and/or Cannabis industries preferred
  

Compensation:  $55,000-$68,000/year + Benefits
