The Principal Clinical Excellence Specialist (CES) is responsible for working with the sales team, the technology managers and directly with current and prospective customers to provide clinical product consultation, product differentiation and clinical representation to the sales process.

 

This includes, but is not limited to, performing walkthroughs of hospitals to evaluate current clinical workflows and participation during sales presentations onsite and remotely relating Spacelabs technology and ecosystem to relevant customer workflow, throughput, alarm management, and cardiac monitoring. The position includes clinical representation at regional and national trade shows to deliver the marketing, clinical and executive level messaging to monitor prospects and customers at all organizational levels. The Principal CES is the primary pre-sale clinical resource for key accounts, IDNs and multi-hospital systems, specialty departments and complex healthcare organizations.

 

The Principal Clinical Excellence Specialist stays current on market trends and the Spacelabs ecosystem while partnering closely with sales and clinical teams throughout the sales and implementation lifecycle.

 

This is a remote field position covering the east and gulf coasts. You must be able to travel up to 75%, primarily in your region, but also across the United States to cover other territories as needed. 

Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a clinical resource to the sales and clinical teams as well as current and prospective customers during the sales and implementation process by:
  • Making recommendations to support best-practice use of current and future Spacelabs hardware and software, including Patient Monitoring (PMC), SafeNSound (SNS), and Rothman Index (RI).
  • Conducting onsite and remote clinical assessments and delivering customer-facing presentations that demonstrate the clinical application of proposed Spacelabs solutions.
  • Developing and maintaining customer relationships from a clinical perspective with C-suite, director, and manager-level hospital leadership, including meeting participation, ongoing support, and serving as a clinical point of contact throughout the buying process.
  • Answering clinical and technical product questions and working with senior hospital clinicians to facilitate best possible patient outcomes.
  • Available for customer clinical follow up conversations related to implementation of Spacelabs hardware and software.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, assists with differentiating how SL products impact organizational workflow, safety, clinical, quality and financial goals.
  • Assist in the development of strategic sales plans for prospective customers aligning organizational goals and objectives.
  • Supporting market expansion efforts through engaging in clinical discussions at accounts with or without existing Spacelabs equipment.
  • Seek out and drive customer clinical workflow optimization consultations.
  • Participate in tradeshows, conferences, webinars, and marketing activities, including pre-planning, logistics, event setup, formal presentations, and providing clinical expertise.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including project management, implementation, education, and customer clinical optimization team.
  • Provide mentoring and ongoing clinical education to sales and technical teams, while serving as a resource for internal clinical consultation.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape.
  • Document needs assessments and clinical workflows prior to purchase order (PO) submission.
  • Work with marketing, clinical, and service teams regarding clinical applications of patient monitoring equipment, troubleshooting, clinical problem solving, new product releases and new software releases. Identifying and communicating opportunities for product improvement using direct customer feedback.
  • Provide clinical and operational consultation throughout the quoting process.
  • Occasional involvement in training sessions for regulatory, marketing, and other internal teams, particularly for new product features or changing clinical regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrates advanced communication skills, including the ability to interpret technical and professional materials, develop reports and business correspondence, and deliver effective presentations to individuals and groups across all organizational levels and to customers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation by recording customer interactions in the CRM and uploading all relevant supporting documents.

  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Master’s degree in healthcare administration, clinical informatics, business administration, nursing education or a related field required.  
  • Minimum of 10 years’ nursing experience. Experience in Critical Care, Emergency Department or Telemetry required. Leadership at the manager/educator level preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant industry experience is preferred. 
  • Extensive clinical cardiac monitoring experience is required. 
  • Obtain certification within 12 months of assuming the CES role (e.g., CPHQ, CPPS, or other applicable nursing leadership certification).
  • Relevant sales experience and a comprehensive understanding of the clinical portfolio are strongly preferred.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and hold an active, unencumbered nursing license.
  • Required to maintain a professional image and demonstrate exceptional customer service and strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels of internal and customer organizations.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare industry trends, regulations, and challenges. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement workflow and process improvements that drive efficiency gains and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to understand clinical workflow and tailor Spacelabs solutions to support customer workflow requirements.
  • Technical proficiency and familiarity with Spacelabs and healthcare solutions and integration with electronic health record systems and related technologies.
  • Must register with a vendor credentialing service, which may require submitting personal information, providing proof of vaccinations or related medical documentation, and complying with site-specific requirements to access customer locations. May also be required to complete a U.S. federal background check and meet eligibility requirements for access to U.S. government facilities and/or IT networks.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word required; CRM and Agile experience preferred.
  • Must be able and willing to travel up to 75% as required by the role.

Pay may range between $125,000 to $145,000 annually

 

The pay range above represents annual base salary only.  Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.

 

Base salary is one component of your total rewards package.  You may be eligible for long-term incentives, potential discretionary bonuses, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discounted rate through the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).  OSI also offers comprehensive benefits including various options for health plans, access to 401(k) retirement plan, health savings account, disability insurance, life insurance, AD&D insurance, leave of absence programs and an array of voluntary benefits.  In addition, paid time off is offered to be used for vacation, holidays, bereavement, and jury duty.  Full-Time salaried employees are entitled to flexible time-off.
