Description

Who we are: Advanced Radiology Services is one of the largest physician-owned radiology practices in the country. Our growing practice includes 175 radiologists, 30 advanced practice providers, and more than 175 employees providing administrative support in our wholly owned subsidiary STARS. We value diversity on our team and promote a culture of inclusion. We provide services to more than 60 different sites across the state of Michigan. ARS is the exclusive radiology provider to West Michigan’s largest Level I trauma center and research hospital, Corewell Health.

What we are looking for: We are looking for an experienced Customer Service Representative to be responsible for answering incoming patient and insurance phone calls related to patient accounts and processing patient correspondence. This position works remotely and requires extensive phone contact in a call center environment.

Responsibilities:

· Answer incoming patient and insurance company phone calls during hours of business.

· Submit claims and communicate with insurance companies regarding patient charges.

· Handle legal requests from attorneys’ offices related to deceased patients and bankruptcy cases.

· Update patient demographics and insurance information using various research tools.

· Set up and track patient payment arrangements in accordance with policy.

· Investigate and identify errors on patient accounts; follow the necessary procedures to correct.

· Work with other departments to research and solve account issues.

· Generate phone calls/faxes to patients, doctor’s offices, facilities and insurance companies to assist with claims processing or payment.

· Thoroughly document all phone calls or correspondence regarding patient accounts; batch patient correspondence for scanning into system.

What do our employees appreciate most about working for STARS?

· #1) Working from home!  Most of our positions are fully remote while the corporate trend has been to require employees to work on site most or all the time.  Remote work allows more flexibility, autonomy, and work/life balance.

· #2) It’s important work! Radiology is a crucial part of health care and employees are proud that the work we do impacts patients in our communities every day.

· #3) Although costs continue to rise, our benefits are still better than the market - employees appreciate the generous 401k and HSA contributions.

· #4) Although we are a primarily virtual work force- employees appreciate that we place a high value on culture and do many things to support teamwork, transparency, and communication amongst colleagues.
