Doorways Case Worker
Fixed Term September 2026 – October 2027
Part-time 0.6 FTE
Rockingham, WA
Why this role matters
Doorways is often the first safe and welcoming space people turn to when life feels overwhelming. Many arrive carrying financial stress, isolation or long-term disadvantage, and your presence can be the moment they feel hope again. This role matters because it offers people dignity, connection and practical support at a time when they need it most. Every conversation, every referral and every small step forward can create meaningful change in someone’s life.
About the role
In this role, you will walk alongside community members as they navigate some of the most challenging moments in their lives, helping them identify their goals, build confidence and connect with the supports that can genuinely change their circumstances. You will take the time to understand each person’s story through thoughtful, strengths‑based assessment, then create case plans that honour their potential and reflect what matters most to them. Working closely with Corps Officers, volunteers and local services, you will offer early intervention, respond to financial hardship with compassion, complete referrals for programs such as NILS and Energy Assistance, and ensure accurate, respectful record‑keeping in SAMIS. This role is ideal for someone who leads with heart, believes deeply in people’s capacity to grow, and wants to be part of a team that shows up for community members with dignity, warmth and unwavering respect.
