SAP Release Manager – SAP S/4HANA RISE & ALM

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP Release Manager to lead and govern end-to-end release management activities across complex SAP landscapes, including SAP S/4HANA RISE environments (Development, QA, Staging, and Production). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SAP transport and change management processes, release governance, compliance controls, and ALM tools such as SAP Solution Manager (SolMan) and SAP Cloud ALM. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, project teams, CAB members, and technical teams to ensure controlled, compliant, and successful SAP releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate SAP release cycles across S/4HANA RISE environments (Dev, QA, Stage, Prod).
• Govern end-to-end SAP transport management, deployment planning, and release execution.
• Drive Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes and ensure adherence to organizational change management policies.
• Oversee SAP Change and Transport Management using SAP Solution Manager (ChaRM/CTS+), SAP Cloud ALM, and related tools.
• Coordinate transport migrations, deployment schedules, release calendars, and production cutovers.
• Ensure compliance with SOX controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with development, testing, basis, security, and business teams to ensure release readiness.
• Monitor release risks, dependencies, and issues, implementing mitigation plans where necessary.
• Coordinate regression testing, UAT support, and release validation activities.
• Maintain release documentation, approvals, audit evidence, and deployment records.
• Track and manage RICEF objects and transport dependencies across projects and environments.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for release and deployment processes.
• Work closely with PMO, application support, and operations teams to ensure smooth production transitions.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in SAP Release Management within enterprise SAP environments.
• Strong experience managing releases across SAP S/4HANA RISE landscapes.
• Hands-on expertise with SAP Solution Manager (SolMan ALM), including:
  • ChaRM (Change Request Management)
  • CTS/CTS+
  • Release and Transport Management
  • Test Management
• Experience with SAP Cloud ALM and SAP Change & Transport Management Services (CTMS).
• Hands-on experience with Rev-Trac, ActiveControl, or similar SAP release automation tools.
• Strong knowledge of SAP transport management, deployment lifecycle, and release governance.
• Experience with Change Management processes and CAB governance.
• Proven experience supporting SOX compliance, audit readiness, and regulatory controls.
• Experience integrating release processes with tools such as Jira and ServiceNow.
• Strong understanding of SAP landscape management, transport sequencing, and dependency management.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
