What you will do:
The Director of Communications & Narrative owns the story β externally and internally. This role sits at the intersection of PR, agent marketing, and corporate communications, reporting directly to the VP of Global Marketing and Communications. You'll shape brand voice and ensure the eXp Realty leadership team is visible, credible, and heard in the media. This is a role for a senior communications leader who can hold a narrative across channels, manage high-stakes announcements, and translate complex business moves into clear, compelling copy fast.
How you will make an impact:
- PR Strategy & Media Relations
- Own end-to-end press release strategy from drafting through distribution and follow-up
- Build and manage reporter relationships, pitch stories proactively, and lead embargo coordination
- Serve as the communications lead for major corporate announcements including product launches, partnerships, leadership appointments, and company milestones
- Agent Marketing Communications
- Develop messaging and content that speaks directly to eXp's agent base
- Translate corporate initiatives and product updates into agent-relevant communications that drive awareness and engagement
- Partner with marketing and product teams to ensure agent communications are timely, clear, and on-brand
- Corporate & Product Announcements
- Lead communications strategy for major product launches, including an upcoming marquee Hub launch
- Own shared product marketing narrative responsibilities assigned by initiative
- Coordinate cross-functional alignment on messaging across business lines, creative, and leadership
How you will grab our attention:
- Editorial Speed & Precision: You write at the speed of business. First drafts don't need to be rebuilt from scratch, and you know the difference between a message and a narrative and you build both.
- PR & Media Fluency: You have established media relationships, understand the mechanics of embargo management, and know how to land a story, not just pitch one.
- Narrative Thinking: You don't wait for a brief. You read the room, get ahead of the story, and connect individual announcements to a larger arc.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: You operate effectively across marketing, creative, product, and executive teams, keeping stakeholders aligned without slowing momentum.
- Operational Agility: You thrive in high-volume, fast-moving environments with multiple simultaneous workstreams and shifting priorities.
Technical Proficiencies:
- PR & Media Tools: Experience with media databases, press release distribution platforms, and earned media tracking
- HubSpot or CRM Platforms: Familiarity with lifecycle communications and audience segmentation tools is a plus
- Analytics & Reporting: Comfortable interpreting media coverage data, engagement metrics, and communications performance to inform strategy
- Project Management Tools: Experience with cross-functional project tracking and stakeholder coordination platforms
Experience:
- 10+ years in communications, PR, content strategy, or corporate communications
- At least 3 years in a senior or leadership role with direct ownership of communications strategy
- Proven track record of managing executive communications at the C-suite level
- Experience owning press release strategy end-to-end, from drafting to distribution to reporter follow-up
- Background working inside a publicly traded company is a strong asset
- Real estate, proptech, financial services, or franchise environment experience is a plus
Success Measures:
- Consistent, high-quality press release and media output that earns coverage and lands the narrative
- Agent-facing communications that drive engagement and reflect a clear understanding of entrepreneurial audiences
- A coherent, durable brand narrative maintained across all channels and company moments
- Strong cross-functional partnerships and stakeholder confidence in communications leadership
- High-output delivery with minimal revision cycles and clear alignment to business objectives
