Position Summary

The Analyst, Geospatial Intelligence – Store Clustering & Localized Assortment supports the development of store-specific assortment and clustering recommendations by analyzing geospatial, shopper, and store-level data. This role helps translate trade area dynamics, mobility patterns, demographic changes, and store performance into actionable insights that improve localized decision-making.

Supporting the Senior Manager, Geospatial Intelligence – Localized Assortment & Store Clustering, this position plays a key role in identifying market opportunities, supporting store clustering strategies, and developing localized recommendations that drive category growth and incremental sales. The Analyst partners with internal stakeholders, customer teams, and retail partners by delivering clear, data-driven analysis and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze store-level, market-level, and geospatial datasets to support localized assortment and store clustering strategies.
  • Use Placer.ai and other integrated data sources to evaluate who shops a store, who lives within its trade area, and how those dynamics affect local assortment opportunities.
  • Support the creation and refinement of store clusters based on shopper behavior, demographic composition, trade area characteristics, and market trends.
  • Identify localized opportunities tied to seasonality, weather, multicultural events, temporary population shifts, and neighborhood changes.
  • Assist in building event-, weather-, and season-based playbooks that help teams respond to changing local demand.
  • Conduct incursion analysis to assess the impact of new store openings near existing locations and identify risks and growth opportunities.
  • Analyze trip circuit and trip mission data to better understand shopper behavior and support localized category recommendations.
  • Synthesize data from the Category Intelligence Platform, including GIS datasets, point-of-sale data, inventory, weather, and real-o-grams.
  • Build reports, dashboards, presentations, and recommendation materials for internal stakeholders, customer teams, and retail partners.
  • Translate analytical findings into clear, practical business implications and recommended actions.
  • Support testing, refinement, and scaling of localized analytics frameworks and methodologies.
  • Serve as a day-to-day partner to cross-functional teams using geospatial insights to support planning and execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Analytics, Business, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience in geospatial analytics, retail analytics, category management, assortment analytics, space planning, or related fields.
  • Experience working with location intelligence, mobility, demographic, and store-level performance data.
  • Familiarity with Placer.ai or similar geospatial/mobility platforms preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across multiple data sources.
  • Experience translating analytical findings into business recommendations and stakeholder-ready materials.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Capabilities

  • Working knowledge of store clustering, trade area analysis, and local market segmentation
  • Strong analytical ability across shopper, mobility, demographic, and store performance data
  • Ability to identify relevant local demand drivers and translate them into recommendations
  • Experience creating practical analyses that support assortment and category decisions
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills across internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to balance analytical rigor with business relevance

New Hire Base Salary Range:

$77,800.00 - $97,300.00

Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.

The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
