Work Mode: 100% Remote Role Duration: 3 months Schedule: 9am - 6pm EST
Responsibilities:
Dispense prescription medications to patients and offer expertise in the safe use of prescriptions.
Conduct health and wellness screenings, provide immunizations, oversee medications, and offer advice on healthy lifestyles.
Prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
Control medications by monitoring drug therapies and advising interventions.
Complete pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' workflow and verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals.
Provide pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of healthcare professionals and counseling patients on drug therapies.
Develop hospital staff's pharmacological knowledge by participating in clinical programs and training pharmacy staff, students, interns, externs, residents, and healthcare professionals.
Comply with state and federal drug laws by maintaining records for controlled substances and supervising the work results of support personnel.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to infection-control protocols.
Maintain pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Review completed prior authorization requests and evaluate prescription claim history.
Communicate with physicians regarding prior authorization for non-formulary drugs, plan benefits, exclusions, quantity limits, age restrictions, and formulary alternatives.
Compile data for reporting purposes such as drug utilization of non-formulary drugs and audit pharmacy claims greater than $200.00.
Requirements:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science Pharmacy degree.
Current pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy in the state where the position is located (Florida, New Mexico, or Texas). If not licensed in the state where the position is located, must be able to obtain licensure within 6 months.
Must have current Pharmacist licensure or obtain Pharmacist licensure in the required states: Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, and West Virginia.
Minimum 0+ years of experience as a Pharmacist.
Preferred Skills:
At least one year of professional RPh experience.
Experience working in managed care and understanding of Medicare/Medicaid law.
