The Role:

Uniphar is seeking an organised and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join the Payroll team. This role is central to delivering accurate and compliant payroll services across ROI and UK entities, supporting approximately 3,500 employees. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting business growth and contributing to Uniphar Payroll’s ambition to become a Centre of Excellence for the businesses.

This position reports to the Head of Payroll and involves close collaboration with HR, Finance, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end weekly and monthly payroll across assigned ROI and UK entities Ensure compliance with Revenue Real Time Reporting (RTR), NAERSA (MFF) and all other statutory deadlines

  • Maintain accurate payroll data through collaboration with HR and Time & Attendance systems

  • Prepare payroll general ledger reports and reconcile payroll-related balance sheet items each period

  • Partner with Finance and Tax teams on payroll reporting for management and statutory purposes Manage employee lifecycle payroll changes (new hires, leavers, and amendments) via HRIS systems

  • Liaise with external bodies including HMRC, courts, and pension providers as required Support Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) compliance in line with company policy and local regulations

  • Respond to employee payroll queries promptly and professionally in line with SLAs

  • Ensure GDPR compliance and maintain strict confidentiality of employee data

  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment and uphold company values

Qualifications & Essential Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ payroll experience in a high-volume multi-jurisdiction environment
  • IPASS qualification
  • Strong knowledge of ROI payroll Desirable: UK and/or EMEA payroll experience Megapay Experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive approach with strong problem-solving ability
  • Collaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to service excellence

How we’d like to work together

As we are a global team, there is flexibility to be based in one of Uniphar’s offices or work from home.  There may be a need for face to face meetings in other locations, as needed.  There may also some flexibility required in order to interact with colleagues or clients in their time zones (i.e. it’s not a ‘9 to 5’ type of job).  In return, you will be joining an environment that understands how inter-twined work and life have become - and both the benefits and challenges that brings - and therefore offers a flexible, progressive way of supporting it through our Hybrid Working philosophy.
