This manager leads a team responsible for fundraising business readiness at Compassion International through the development and delivery of learning solutions, training resources (e.g., videos, job aids, procedures), and quality measures that ensure standardized work across operations.
The team supports OCMO, GPE, CVG, and select Covenant Partner fundraising needs by providing training and documentation across key areas, including Relationship Management (Church, Influencer, Donor), Business Support Specialists, Trip Leading, marketing operations for mass supporter segments, call center operations, and processing teams.
Support includes onboarding, upskilling, Salesforce CRM and fundraising training, field experience preparation, and readiness for new projects, processes, and products.
This leader ensures teams are prepared to adopt, execute, and sustain operational changes, serving as a bridge between strategy, process improvement, technology implementation, and frontline execution. This role reports to the Director of Operational Excellence.
The Manager oversees readiness strategy, knowledge management, standard work, and sustainment to ensure successful implementation and lasting performance improvements. They lead a team focused on operational readiness, documentation governance, performance enablement, and continuous improvement across fundraising and support functions.

Provides leadership, planning and consultation to subordinates, executives, and peer management in the successful alignment of assigned department resources to ensure achievement of operational priorities and initiatives, integrating priorities within organizational strategies to ensure that department's purpose is fulfilled.
Contributes to or prepares and administers the annual budget and departmental expenses, ensuring accountability for on-time completion of deliverables based on department objectives, SLAs, and other Compassion standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory and board policies.
Fundraising Readiness & Change Enablement
Leads readiness planning and execution for new fundraising products, services, technologies, systems, and process changes.
Develops comprehensive readiness strategies that prepare teams for successful adoption and implementation of organizational initiatives.
Partners with Operational Excellence, fundraising leaders, technology teams, and project teams to identify operational impacts and readiness requirements.
Ensures appropriate learning, communication, coaching, and support mechanisms are in place prior to launch.
Establishes readiness metrics and monitors adoption outcomes following implementation.
Knowledge Management & Standard Work
Establishes and maintains governance for fundraising documentation, standard operating procedures, process documentation, and knowledge repositories.
Leads the development and maintenance of standardized work practices that support consistency, quality, and operational effectiveness.
Ensures operational documentation remains current, accessible, and aligned with business processes.
Creates systems and processes that enable frontline staff and leaders to quickly access accurate and trusted information.
Promotes documentation standards and best practices across fundraising functions.
Sustainment & Continuous Improvement
Develops and implements sustainment strategies that ensure process improvements and operational changes remain embedded within day-to-day operations.
Monitors adoption, compliance, performance metrics, and operational effectiveness following implementation.
Partners with Operational Excellence teams to identify gaps, barriers, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
Supports quality management practices that reinforce adherence to standard work and operational expectations.
Establishes feedback loops that capture frontline insights and inform future improvements.
Leadership & Team Development
Leads, coaches, and develops a team of readiness, documentation, and performance enablement professionals.
Establishes team goals, priorities, and performance expectations aligned with Operational Excellence objectives.
Fosters a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, collaboration, and customer focus.
Manages departmental budgets, resources, and vendor relationships as applicable.
Ensures timely delivery of team commitments, initiatives, and service-level expectations.
Cross-Functional Partnership
Serves as a strategic partner to fundraising, operations, HR, and technology leaders to align readiness efforts with business priorities.
Assesses readiness risks, operational impacts, and sustainment needs, driving adoption of standardized, scalable practices.
Leads and develops a high-performing team through clear goals, coaching, performance management, and continuous learning.
Directs the design and delivery of learning solutions that support business, ministry, and operational objectives.
Collaborates cross-functionally and leverages data and subject matter expertise to identify needs and implement effective readiness solutions.
7-10 years of experience in training or development, including applying learning solutions and documenting standard work to support operational readiness of fundraising teams.
3+ years experience leading and managing professional teams.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training and/or certification.
Demonstrated experience leading operational readiness for large-scale business, technology, or process initiatives.
Experience developing and governing documentation, standard work, knowledge management systems, and operational procedures.
Experience implementing and sustaining organizational change initiatives.
Strong technical proficiency with systems and software, with the ability to rapidly learn, adapt, and guide others in doing the same.
Experience supporting fundraising or customer/revenue-generating operations (e.g., donor services, contact centers).
Experience measuring adoption, performance, and sustainment outcomes.
Experience with quality management, QA practices, or process governance.
Experience applying Operational Excellence principles (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
Familiarity with Compassion’s mission and ministry is a plus.
