Project / Department Overview

The role is part of a Software Asset Management service environment and focuses on license inventory management. The main objective is the monthly inventory, import, processing, and quality assurance of commercial software license data from different sources.

The position includes the enrichment, validation, correction, and clearing of imported license information. The processed data is transferred into a license management tool in order to create effective license records and to support further license compliance analysis.

Responsibilities

The License Inventory Manager will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Collect, process, and consolidate commercial software license data from various sources.
  • Use SAP as the main data source for license-related commercial information.
  • Prepare and transfer processed data into a license management tool.
  • Support the creation of effective license records in the Software Asset Management system.
  • Perform clearing activities for imported data sets.
  • Review, correct, and enrich individual data fields within imported license data.
  • Identify and filter relevant information from documents, records, and different source systems.
  • Use extracted information to enrich license data during the clearing process.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and completeness of license inventory information.
  • Work with Microsoft Excel, SAP GUI, and market-standard Software Asset Management tools.
  • Support the operational Software Asset Management process through accurate documentation and data maintenance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to clarify data inconsistencies and ensure reliable license records.

Required Qualifications

The candidate should have one of the following qualifications:

  • Completed degree in business administration, business informatics, computer science, or a comparable field.
  • Completed commercial vocational training.
  • Completed recognized IT vocational training.
  • Equivalent qualification supported by relevant professional experience.

Required Professional Experience

The candidate should have:

  • At least 4 years of professional experience as a License Inventory Manager or in a comparable role within a Software Asset Management environment.
  • At least 4 years of experience deriving, filtering, and extracting relevant information from documents and different data sources.
  • Experience using extracted information for data enrichment and quality assurance within a clearing process.
  • Experience in processing commercial software license data.
  • Experience with software license inventory, license data management, or license compliance preparation.

Required Tool Experience

The candidate should have practical experience with the following tools:

  • Microsoft Excel: at least 5 years of experience.
  • Market-standard Software Asset Management tool: at least 4 years of experience, for example USU LiMa, Flexera, Matrix42, Snow, or comparable tools.
  • SAP GUI: at least 2 years of experience.

Language Requirements

  • German: C2 level according to CEFR.

Proof of language skills may be provided through a CV, certificate, reference, self-declaration, or equivalent evidence. Native speakers are exempt from providing separate proof.

If project references are required, they should include:

  • Industry

  • Short project description
  • Duration of the candidate's assignment

The position can generally be performed through mobile work, with an expected remote work share of approximately 100% on average.
