Python Tutor - Contract

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Python Tutor for an immediate 4-week freelance contract. This role is designed to cover an evening class for adult learners working towards a Level 2 qualification.

The successful tutor will facilitate a group work project, guide learners through practical coding exercises, and provide the supportive feedback necessary for them to compile evidence for their course portfolios.

• Contract Type: 4-week freelance contract (Inside IR35)
  

• Schedule: Tuesday evenings only, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM GMT
  

• Location: Remote (Option for either online delivery or in-person at a dedicated training centre in Colchester)
  

• Start Date: Tuesday 16th/23rd June (Immediate requirement)
  

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a pre-structured Level 2 curriculum focusing on fundamental Python programming concepts.
  

• Facilitate collaborative group projects and manage evening classroom dynamics for adult learners.
  

• Provide essential pedagogical support to help learners gather, structure, and collate the evidence required for their accredited portfolios.
  

• Maintain accurate records of learner attendance and weekly progress.
  

Requirements

• Technical Proficiency: Strong practical knowledge of Python and a solid understanding of foundational software development principles.
  

• Instructional Experience: Proven experience teaching, tutoring, or mentoring adult learners, ideally within an accredited or structured training environment.
  

• Portfolio Support: Ability to guide learners on how to document their technical work to meet formal qualification standards.
  

• Vetting & Compliance: As this role involves working within a regulated training environment, the successful candidate must be willing to undergo standard recruitment compliance checks, including a background check, prior to starting.
