Job description

Accounting firm based in California seeks an accountant with experience in general accounting and payroll for a remote position

  • 100% remote position with equipment provided by the company
  •  Internet and electricity stipend
  • Full legally required benefits (IMSS, aguinaldo, vacation)
  • Holidays: the U.S. federal holiday calendar is observed. The total number of holidays is equivalent to the Mexican legal minimum, but U.S. holidays are substituted for Mexican ones to align with our clients and team schedule.
  • Professional work environment with ongoing supervision and training in U.S. accounting
  • Monthly bookkeeping for approximately 20 clients: posting bank transactions, preparing adjusting journal entries, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, reviewing reports
  • Payroll processing for approximately 25 clients: entering hours, setting up new hires, updating employee information, processing third-party payments
  • Accounts payable: entering and reviewing vendor bills
  • Compliance support: sales and payroll tax returns, preparation of informational returns, property tax, and California annual reports
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, but open to 3 to 5 years depending on the quality of candidates presented
  • Experience in processing of US Payroll
  • Has background working for small accounting firms
  • Experience in supporting multiple clients, ideally from US or western counterparts
  • Knowledge in Quickbooks; other enterprise ERP not a priority at this point
  • Experience with: bank transactions, adjusting journal entries, bank and credit card reconciliations, report review, accounts payable / vendor bills
  • Basic MS Excel proficiency
  • Advanced written and verbal English
