Finance Department

Finance Department (FD) is responsible for financial management of the GIC group. We ensure financial stewardship and reporting for the GIC group, and act as Finance Business Partners to optimise corporate financial planning and the use of operating budgets for growth and sustainability. We harness data and technology to create insights for financial decision-making and achieve excellence in financial operations.

 

What impact can you make in this role?

We are looking for a suitable candidate to join the Enterprise Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. As a member of the team, your responsibility includes providing enterprise level supporting in shaping the governance for planning & budgeting matters, leading the enterprise financial planning & budgeting process, setting guidance on financial performance management and benchmarking, and providing enterprise financial insights & analysis to senior stakeholders to support resource allocation decisions to achieve our goals.

 

What will you do in the Enterprise FP&A team?

  • Business Partnering: Partner with senior management to review department financial planning regularly, and providing clear insights into drivers of group financials and performance against outcomes to drive resource allocation decisions
  • Group Financial Frameworks: Develop and implement corporate planning and budgeting frameworks, guide business operations to execute business outcomes within the frameworks.
  • Financial Analytics: Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, providing actionable insights to stakeholders. Design and implement analytics tools to support financial analysis.
  • Dashboard Creation: Design, implement, and maintain interactive finance dashboards that provide real-time insights into finance operations and key metrics.
  • Financial Modelling: Support business discussion and decisions by performing meaningful financial modelling exercises
  • Reporting: Prepare financial reports and presentations for stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accuracy in reporting.

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role? 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A relevant professional qualification (e.g., CFA, CPA, CA) is advantageous.
  • Experience: 6–9 years of relevant working experience, with a strong track record in Financial Planning & Analysis, ideally gained within the financial services industry.
  • AI Experience: Hands-on experience applying AI or advanced automation tools to financial analysis, forecasting, or process improvement, with the ability to identify and drive adoption of emerging technologies within the finance function.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent) and analytical tools. Familiarity with modern data and AI tools (e.g., Python, SQL, or generative AI applications) is advantageous.
  • Driven self-starter: Strong initiative, resourceful, and able to lead and collaborate across diverse stakeholders, working independently to deliver outcomes and influence at senior levels.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights that inform strategic decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distil and present complex financial information clearly to senior management.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
